Role Overview
The AI Platform Engineer leads the design, build, and operation of enterprise AI platform capabilities that enable teams to develop, deploy, and monitor AI systems safely and at scale. This role involves partnering with the Artificial Intelligence Center of Excellence, AI Governance, Infrastructure, Security, and engineering teams to provide reusable platform services. The AI Platform Engineer ensures AI platforms are reliable, cost-effective, observable, and aligned with enterprise architecture and governance standards.
Key Responsibilities
  • Design, build, and operate enterprise AI, MLOps, and LLMOps platform capabilities supporting model development, deployment, and lifecycle management.
  • Implement standardized, end-to-end AI pipelines including data ingestion, training, evaluation, approval workflows, deployment automation, and monitoring.
  • Create reusable platform templates and reference architectures for common AI patterns such as predictive ML, GenAI, RAG, and agentic workflows.
  • Embed security, privacy, and AI governance controls directly into platform services using policy-as-code and automated guardrails.
  • Implement platform observability, reliability engineering practices, SLIs/SLOs, logging, metrics, alerting, and incident response for AI services.
  • Partner with AI Governance, Risk, Legal, Privacy, and Security teams to ensure responsible AI practices and regulatory readiness.
  • Provide technical leadership for AI platform roadmap planning, backlog prioritization, and delivery sequencing.
  • Optimize platform performance, cost, and capacity for AI workloads.
  • Enable adoption through documentation, onboarding materials, and internal enablement for delivery teams.
Required Qualifications
Education: Bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, data science, or a related technical field, or an equivalent combination of education and professional work experience.
Experience: 7+ years of experience in platform engineering, DevOps/SRE, cloud infrastructure, or software engineering, with at least 3 years supporting AI/ML platforms.
Technical Skills: Hands-on experience with CI/CD, infrastructure-as-code, containerization, and cloud-native architectures. A working knowledge of AI/ML and GenAI delivery patterns is required, including model lifecycle management and evaluation concepts. Experience implementing secure access patterns, secrets management, and role-based provisioning for enterprise platforms is also necessary.
Preferred Qualifications
  • An advanced degree is preferred.
  • Experience building or operating enterprise AI platforms leveraging Azure AI services or comparable cloud offerings.
  • Familiarity with responsible AI and governance practices in regulated environments.
  • Experience supporting internal developer platforms or enterprise self-service tooling.
