Overview / Responsibilities

Wood's Construction and Remediation (CAR) Business is seeking a Senior Human Resources Manager to serve as a strategic business partner working closely with the Business Unit President and the management team. This role will support the CAR (Remediation) business, with 300 employees in addition to part of the West US business with 3-400 employees. This position reports to the VP Human Resources for the Americas.

Our successful candidate will be a true business partner to the leadership team for the CAR business; understanding their people, organization, business needs, vision and challenges.  You will develop and implement strategies for performance management, employee training and development, recognition and reward, succession of talent, employee engagement and onboarding, partnering with recruitment and the safety teams, and global mobility support. This position has one direct report who is a Mobilization Lead.

With strong experience as an HR Business Partner, you excel in strategic thinking in talent, performance management and change, and drawing upon shared service support to deliver positive outcomes.   Acting as an employee champion and change agent, you will aspire to be part of a team delivering strong results.  You will have effective communication skills, be engaging, demonstrate resilience and open to using innovative ideas and an agile approach to deliver the best possible outcomes.   In return, this role will offer you an opportunity to progress and thrive professionally within a global organization working collaboratively to guide and coach for the effective management of our HR capability. 

You will work with other HR Business leaders across the Global community to maintain consistency within the function and support line management with:

  • development of workforce planning
  • talent management and succession plans
  • identification of employees for development
  • employee relations
  • compensation and benefits advice
  • execution of business cultural and change initiatives, and identification of learning opportunities.
  • initiating organization structure changes, people movements, changes to employee conditions of employment

Skills / Qualifications
  • Must Possess a Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business or a related field
  • 10 + years experience in an HR Generalist position ideally in a Construction and unionized environment
  • Global Mobility experience would also be an asset
  • PHR or SPHR certified preferred
  • Experience working with a complex global multinational company with diverse service offerings
  • Knowledge of various state and federal employment laws (federal government compliance)
  • Ability to partner with and coach senior leaders
  • Solutions driven and able to manage varying tasks with shifting priorities
  • Commercial awareness and business acumen
  • Must pass drug test, background check and must have a satisfactory driving record in accordance with the Company's driving (MVR) policy
  • Will be required to travel on an as needed basis - approx. 10-20%
