Collins Aerospace is looking to hire a Contracts Manager to join our team. This position is an integral part of a team of customer facing contracts professionals and provides advice and expertise on complex contractual matters.

This person will be interacting with internal and external customers on a daily basis to provide excellent customer service and advise and represent the organization on contractual matters. This position is for a seasoned Contracts professional with experience in the formation and administration of commercial contracts.

This is a dynamic, remote-working position supporting a significant value stream within the Power & Controls strategic business unit of Collins Aerospace with opportunities for exposure to senior levels of management and continued career development. Key IPT members work out of Iowa, Connecticut, and Illinois.

What You Will Do:

  • Propose, negotiate, and execute contracts of moderate complexity
  • Provides cradle to grave contract support for the value streams for assigned customers.
  • Reviews incoming customer requests for proposals, identifies proposal requirements, reviews terms and conditions for acceptability and compliance with company policies and procedures, assists in proposal development as required and participates in securing required management approval for submittal of proposals to customers. 
  • Summarizes contractual issues, investigates compliance matters, interprets regulations, identifies risks, and formulates and presents recommendations.
  • Effectively communicates (written and verbal) programmatic issues and obtains necessary approvals and documentation required to ensure successful proposal and contract execution.
  • Drafts formal correspondence to address contractual matters and aids in dispute resolution.
  • Supports and collaborates with internal functional organizations (Finance, VSL, Engineering, Quality, Supply Chain, Pricing, Legal) in the daily program execution and proposal process.
  • Supports special projects and process improvements events, as needed.
  • Supports, prepares, and presents a variety of review packages to leadership internally and to customer.
  • Minimal travel required (<10%)


Qualifications You Must Have:

  • Typically requires a University Degree and minimum 8 years prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 5 years of experience 
  • Experience with proposal preparation and contract administration in Aerospace
  • Ability to work autonomously with minimal oversight

Qualifications We Prefer:

  • Experience working commercial contracts
  • Government Contracting (FAR 15 / FAR 12) experience
  • Experience in a customer facing role as Seller to other major Aerospace & Defense companies
  • Experience reviewing, interpreting, and negotiating terms and conditions
  • Proposal and contract strategy experience
  • Demonstrated proficiency in Excel, Word, PowerPoint

The salary range for this role is 107,500 USD - 204,500 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels.
