These internships provide hands-on experience with defense industry projects, exposure to security protocols, and opportunities to learn about government contracting processes, all while working remotely. Interns may need to meet specific eligibility requirements, such as U.S. citizenship and security clearances, depending on the nature of the work.

Job description

Our client, Moodro (https://moodro.net), is a rapidly growing defense technology company developing autonomous counter-UAS solutions designed to operate in real combat conditions and support frontline units.

Key facts about the company

• Moodro systems are actively used by combat units in operational environments
• The company has already delivered a significant number of electronic warfare (EW) and signals intelligence (SIGINT) stations to the field
• Its technologies have received official NATO codification and validation from relevant operational units
• The team includes veterans and engineers who regularly test and refine solutions in real field conditions

About the Role

We’re looking for a hands-on U.S. Business Development and Capture Manager to own bottom-up customer engagement and lead capture efforts for U.S. DoD opportunities related to EW solutions.

This high-visibility role reports directly to the President and focuses on accelerating traction in the U.S. by driving bottom-up adoption with end users (units/operators) and translating field insights into winning capture and proposal strategies.

This opportunity is fully remote with considerable travel and is structured as a contract-to-hire position.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage the full capture process for U.S. DoD opportunities (from identification through shaping, strategy, proposal, and follow-through)
  • Own working-level customer engagement with units/end users/operators: demos, requirements discovery, follow-ups, translating needs into capture strategy
  • Identify and qualify opportunities we can win; prioritize targets and build win plans with the team
  • Develop winning strategies (win themes, differentiation, advocacy building) with technical, finance, contracts, and leadership teams
  • Lead proposal development: structure, content plan, stakeholder inputs, reviews
  • Represent Moodro at relevant events and customer meetings; build consistent field presence and support marketing and messaging with field insights and customer-driven feedback
  • Maintain capture documentation (account plans, contact plans, call notes, capture plans, action items)

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent, with 7+ years of relevant experience (or ~5 years with strong academic credentials or advanced degrees).
  • Experience working directly with DoD acquisition processes and within the defense contracting environment.
  • Strong business acumen and familiarity with the defense contracting environment and long sales cycles.
  • Hands-on technical/electronics exposure (strongly preferred) and ability to engage on system capabilities/constraints.
  • Experience in/with competitors or adjacent defense sectors relevant to EW and counter-UAS.

We are looking for someone who can:

  • Operate in the U.S. defense environment with proven B2G / DoD BD + capture ownership (not B2B-only)
  • Engage credibly in the Electronic Warfare (EW) context and speak the operator/end-user language
  • Run capture end-to-end: opportunity shaping, win strategy, proposal leadership, follow-through
  • Show an evidence-based track record of customer engagement, ownership, and capture/proposal outcomes
  • Collaborate cross-functionally and communicate clearly (meetings, follow-ups, documentation)
  • Be effective immediately with minimal onboarding

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Prior U.S. military background (Army/Marines/SOF)
  • Existing network across relevant U.S. units/DoD stakeholders
  • Experience with international and/or NATO partners

Why Moodro

  • Real impact in defense technology and national security
  • High autonomy and ownership with minimal bureaucracy
  • Close collaboration with strong engineering and R&D teams
  • Direct access to field feedback and fast iteration cycles
  • Opportunity to work on technologies with global defense potential
