Thriving Center of Counseling is seeking a dedicated and experienced Senior Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC) to join our team, specializing in geriatric mental health. This role is fully remote, allowing you to work from your home office while providing telehealth counseling services to elderly clients across Jacksonville, Florida, and beyond. Our telehealth platform provides a state-of-the-art virtual space tailored for effective communication, collaboration, and client engagement. You will enjoy a structured workweek, operating Monday through Friday from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM, ensuring a healthy work-life balance.

• Conduct comprehensive mental health assessments for elderly residents to determine their specific psychological and emotional needs.
• Facilitate individualized and group counseling sessions, targeting emotional difficulties, identity issues, and life transitions faced by seniors.
• Collaborate extensively with interdisciplinary healthcare teams to formulate and implement holistic care plans tailored to the geriatric population.
• Educate families and caregivers about effective emotional support strategies to enhance the quality of life for elderly individuals.
• Provide specialized grief and loss counseling to residents and their families dealing with death and dying, ensuring they are supported through challenging times.
• Design and implement cognitive stimulation programs aimed at improving mental acuity and reducing cognitive decline in elderly clients.

Our primary focus is on counseling seniors facing age-related challenges, including caring for loved ones with chronic illnesses, adjusting to retirement, or coping with the death of family and friends. Our clients often seek assistance with anxiety, depression, and end-of-life issues. • A Master’s Degree in Mental Health Counseling from an accredited institution.
• A valid Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC) credential in the state of Florida.
• A minimum of three years of professional experience in geriatric mental health counseling or related fields.
• Proficiency in therapeutic modalities applicable to the elderly demographic, including but not limited to cognitive-behavioral therapy, mindfulness practices, and solution-focused therapy.
• Strong ability to communicate effectively with elderly clients and multidisciplinary teams, demonstrating both understanding and compassion.

• Additional training or certifications in geriatric counseling, mental health interventions, or related specializations.
• Experience in providing telehealth services, utilizing digital communication tools effectively to engage clients remotely.
• Knowledge of contemporary ethical issues and legal regulations in geriatric mental health practice.
