Job description

The Senior Product Security Engineer serves as a subject matter expert in a specific security domain, tackling complex challenges and providing technical guidance to other engineers. This position exists to provide deep expertise and leadership on security issues that require specialized knowledge beyond standard procedures. The Senior PSE drives the resolution of significant vulnerabilities, enhances security processes, and mentors junior team members, thereby elevating the entire team's capabilities and ensuring that critical risks are mitigated against.
Note: This role may come into contact with confidential or sensitive customer information requiring special treatment in accordance with Red Hat policies and applicable privacy laws.

  • Lead security assessments and guide the remediation of complex vulnerabilities across products and systems.
  • Own the security posture and risk management strategy for specific products, services, or systems.
  • Drive improvements to security processes, tools, and infrastructure to enhance Product Security capabilities.
  • Mentor engineers on secure development practices, risk analysis, and incident response.
  • Translate complex security risks into actionable plans for engineering and product teams..
  • Proactively leverage AI technologies to streamline workflows, simplify processes, and enhance overall efficiency.
  • Proactively utilize and experiment with AI-assisted tools and technologies, such as code generation, auto-completion, and intelligent suggestions, to accelerate development cycles, enhance code quality, and support test design, automation, and peer review throughout the development lifecycle.
The salary range for this position is $134,050.00 - $221,210.00. Actual offer will be based on your qualifications.

Pay Transparency

Red Hat determines compensation based on several factors including but not limited to job location, experience, applicable skills and training, external market value, and internal pay equity. Annual salary is one component of Red Hat's compensation package. This position may also be eligible for bonus, commission, and/or equity. For positions with Remote-US locations, the actual salary range for the position may differ based on location but will be commensurate with job duties and relevant work experience.
