Job Summary

AM Electric Enterprises is seeking a detail-oriented and dependable Remote Payroll Assistant to support our payroll and administrative operations. The successful candidate will assist with maintaining accurate employee payroll records, processing time and attendance information, reviewing payroll documentation, and ensuring payroll-related tasks are completed accurately and on schedule.

This position is ideal for someone who is organized, comfortable working with confidential information, and able to manage multiple administrative tasks in a remote work environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist with the preparation and processing of weekly, biweekly, or monthly payroll.
  • Review employee timesheets, attendance records, and payroll data for accuracy.
  • Enter and maintain employee payroll information in payroll systems and spreadsheets.
  • Assist with calculating regular hours, overtime, deductions, reimbursements, and other payroll-related adjustments.
  • Maintain accurate and confidential employee payroll records.
  • Assist with resolving payroll discrepancies and responding to payroll-related questions.
  • Prepare payroll reports and supporting documentation for management and accounting personnel.
  • Assist with onboarding and offboarding payroll-related tasks.
  • Coordinate with HR, accounting, and management to verify payroll information.
  • Monitor payroll deadlines and ensure required documentation is completed on time.
  • Assist with maintaining compliance with applicable payroll policies and procedures.
  • Perform general administrative and data-entry duties as needed.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; additional education in accounting, finance, business, or a related field is a plus.
  • Previous payroll, accounting, bookkeeping, HR, or administrative experience preferred.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Google Sheets, or similar spreadsheet applications.
  • Ability to work with confidential and sensitive employee information.
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and meet deadlines with minimal supervision.
