About the Job
 

The data visualization consultant will focus on developing and working closely with the Principal Investigator to generate infographics that are developmentally appropriate for young adults. Additionally, the consultant will edit visual stimuli to align with the Principal Investigators research program and key priority areas identified by various funding sources and the Principal Investigator. Data visualization consultants should have experience across several statistical or data visualization software and a history of working with minoritized communities.

The budgeted salary range for this position is $1,400. Final salary offers are dependent on the candidate's experience, skills, and internal equity within the department.
Employee will work up until the allotted budget from the research grant allows. 
Job Responsibilities:


Function 1 (50%)

  • Data visualization consultation on TGD research study. The employee will work with the PI (Dr. Kay Simon) to develop stimuli for an ongoing interview-based study of TGD young adults ages 18 to 29 years old.


Function 2 (50%)

  • Creation of visual stimuli for an ongoing research study of TGD young adults to elicit responses throughout an interview.
Qualifications
 

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in the social sciences such as political science or international studies, psychology, etc.
  • 2+ years of experience with data visualization techniques for research studies involving sensitive data working with vulnerable populations.
  • Deep content knowledge of TGD people's experiences, family dynamics, and the intersection of race/ethnicity, public policy, and healthcare settings. 
  • Evidence of attention to diverse identities in teaching or professional experience, and the commitment to support the Universitys work in diversity, equity, and inclusion.
  • Prior research experience and writing focused on the role of public policy impacting TGD people with economic or health-based outcomes from a quantitative or qualitative perspective.


Preferred Qualifications:

  • 4+ years of experience with data visualization techniques for research studies involving sensitive data working with vulnerable populations.
  • Ability to develop and provide deliverables in ways that effectively account for a variety of diverse backgrounds, communities, identities, and abilities.)

Pay and Benefits
 

Pay Range: $1,400; depending on education/qualifications/experience.
