Remote data processing refers to the collection, analysis, and management of data from a location outside of a traditional office setting, often using cloud-based tools and remote access technologies. Professionals in this role handle data entry, validation, organization, and sometimes basic analytics, ensuring data integrity and accessibility for organizations. This job typically requires strong computer skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently while maintaining data security and privacy protocols.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a remote data processing specialist?

To thrive as a Remote Data Processing specialist, you need strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and proficiency in data entry and management, often supported by a relevant degree or experience in data-related roles. Senior Python Developer (AWS | Data Modernization | API Integration)

6+ months, high chance of extensions, maybe conversion - fully remote - need recent/current asset management experience / investment industry experience

We are seeking a Senior Python Developer to lead the modernization of legacy SQL-based data processing into scalable, cloud-native solutions. This role will focus on converting complex SQL stored procedures into Python, redesigning data pipelines to consume and process data from SaaS APIs, and building an AWS-native architecture that supports scalable API services and efficient data storage.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the conversion of complex SQL stored procedures into clean, efficient, and maintainable Python applications.
  • Design and develop backend data processing solutions that consume, transform, and manage data from SaaS APIs.
  • Architect scalable data storage solutions to support modern API-driven applications and optimize data access patterns.
  • Build and deploy cloud-native applications using AWS services including S3, Lambda, RDS, EC2, and EKS.
  • Design, implement, and maintain GitLab CI/CD pipelines for automated testing and deployment.
  • Automate infrastructure provisioning using Terraform and Infrastructure as Code (IaC) best practices.
  • Collaborate with software engineers, DevOps, DBAs, and business stakeholders to deliver project milestones.
  • Troubleshoot production issues, optimize application performance, and support all phases of the software development lifecycle.
  • Document system architecture, workflows, and technical best practices while identifying opportunities for process improvements.

Required Qualifications

  • Strong experience converting SQL stored procedures into Python for enterprise applications.
  • Advanced Python development experience focused on backend services, data processing, and automation.
  • Experience integrating with RESTful SaaS APIs and designing scalable API-driven architectures.
  • Hands-on expertise with AWS including S3, Lambda, RDS, EC2, and EKS.
  • Experience designing cloud-based data storage and processing solutions.
  • Strong experience with GitLab CI/CD pipelines and automated deployment practices.
  • Proficiency with Terraform and Infrastructure as Code.
  • Excellent problem-solving, communication, and collaboration skills within Agile development environments.
