Job description

JD for Windchill Data Migration/Solution Architect
Key Responsibilities
  • Own end-to-end Windchill data migration architecture, covering strategy, design, execution, and validation
  • Define migration approach for parts, BOMs, documents, CAD data, change objects, and configurations
  • Assess legacy systems and define data mapping, transformation rules, and cleansing strategy
  • Design and govern migration using tools such as Windchill Bulk Migrator (WBM), Info*Engine, ETL frameworks, and custom loaders
  • Establish migration waves, cutover plans, and rollback strategies
  • Ensure data quality, traceability, version history, and lifecycle integrity post-migration
  • Lead migration rehearsals (mock runs), performance tuning, and volume testing
  • Define and execute validation protocols, reconciliation reports, and sign-off criteria
  • Ensure compliance with 21 CFR Part 11, FDA, ISO 13485, SOX, ITAR where applicable
  • Collaborate with solution architects, functional consultants, infrastructure teams, and business stakeholders
  • Mentor migration teams and review technical deliverables
  • Support audit readiness and hypercare post go-live

Required Skills & Experience
  • 10+ years of experience in PLM implementations, with strong focus on Windchill data migration
  • Hands-on expertise with PTC Windchill (12.x / 13.x) data model and core objects
  • Proven experience migrating from legacy PLM/PDM systems (e.g., Enovia, Teamcenter, Agile, SmarTeam, MatrixOne)
  • Strong understanding of Windchill object relationships, lifecycles, workflows, and versioning
  • Experience with CAD data migration (Creo, SolidWorks, CATIA, NX)
  • Working knowledge of SQL, Oracle/PostgreSQL, and data analysis techniques
  • Experience handling large data volumes and complex dependency structures
  • Strong understanding of regulated industry requirements
  • Excellent stakeholder management, documentation, and communication skills
