Job description

Job Type: Full Time

Hours: 9:00-6:00 PM EST M-F

Salary: $50,000-$60,000 yearly

Job Summary

The Sales Reporting Manager maintains and grows AnswerNet’s sales performance reporting, which today runs primarily through Excel and Pentaho. This role keeps existing reports accurate and on schedule while building the automation skills needed to reduce manual work over time. It’s a strong fit for someone early in their reporting/analytics career who is comfortable in Excel, has some exposure to ETL or BI tools, and is eager to grow into a more automated, scalable reporting function alongside the sales team.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Maintain and update the sales team’s existing Excel-based reports and Pentaho jobs on a recurring schedule (daily, weekly, monthly, quarterly).
  • Learn and apply Pentaho Data Integration (Kettle) to pull and consolidate data from CRM, billing, and other sales systems.
  • Identify manual, repetitive Excel processes and work with the team to automate them over time.
  • Support sales leadership and reps with report requests, ad hoc analysis, and troubleshooting data issues.
  • Check reports for accuracy after distribution and flag discrepancies to the right owner for resolution.
  • Document report logic, data sources, and processes so reporting knowledge isn’t siloed.
  • Train sales team members on how to access, read, and use existing reports and dashboards.
  • Track key sales metrics and KPIs and bring trends or anomalies to leadership’s attention.
  • Suggest tools or approaches that could simplify or speed up the reporting process as skills develop.

Qualifications

Education: Associate or bachelor’s degree is required.

Experience: 2-3 years of experience in reporting, data entry/analysis, or business operations, with solid hands-on Excel experience. Prior exposure to Pentaho or another ETL/BI tool is a plus but not required — training provided.

Certification: None required.

Skills/Competencies: Solid Excel skills (formulas, pivot tables); comfortable learning new systems and tools; basic understanding of ETL/data concepts a plus; detail-oriented with strong follow-through on recurring deadlines; interest in automating manual processes; clear written and verbal communication.

Physical Requirements:

  • Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.

Work Environment:

  • Primarily remote/hybrid office setting with standard business hours; occasional flexibility required to support month-end and quarter-end reporting deadlines.
