How much do remote data engineering jobs pay per year?

As of Jul 14, 2026, the average yearly pay for remote data engineering in Hawaii is $134,770.00, according to ZipRecruiter salary data. Most workers in this role earn between $119,000.00 and $142,900.00 per year, depending on experience, location, and employer.

Can I work remotely as a data engineer?

Yes, remote data engineering roles are common, allowing professionals to work from various locations. These jobs often require skills in cloud platforms, programming, and data pipeline tools, and may involve collaboration through online communication tools.

How do remote data engineers typically collaborate with other team members across different time zones?

Remote data engineers often work with distributed teams, which requires strong communication and organization skills. They collaborate using tools like Slack, Zoom, and project management platforms to stay aligned on data pipeline development, troubleshooting, and deployment. Regular stand-ups, asynchronous documentation, and clear communication of progress are essential for ensuring everyone is on the same page, regardless of location. Flexibility in working hours and proactive scheduling of meetings help facilitate effective collaboration and project delivery.

What is remote data engineering?

Remote data engineering involves designing, building, and maintaining data systems and pipelines while working from a location outside of a traditional office. Remote data engineers use tools to collect, process, and store large sets of data, making it accessible for analysis and business decision-making. They collaborate with teams virtually, often using cloud-based technologies, to ensure that data infrastructure is reliable, scalable, and secure. This role requires strong technical skills in programming, databases, and data architecture, as well as the ability to communicate effectively in a distributed work environment.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a Remote Data Engineer, and why are they important?

To thrive as a Remote Data Engineer, you need strong programming skills (such as Python, Java, or Scala), experience with data modeling, ETL processes, and a solid understanding of database systems, often supported by a degree in computer science or a related field. Proficiency with big data tools like Apache Spark, Hadoop, cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP), and certifications in these technologies is highly valued. Excellent problem-solving abilities, self-motivation, and clear communication are crucial soft skills for remote collaboration and project delivery. These competencies ensure effective data pipeline development, reliable data management, and seamless teamwork across distributed environments.

What engineer makes $500,000 a year?

Senior data engineers with extensive experience, advanced skills in cloud platforms, and expertise in big data tools can earn salaries approaching or exceeding $500,000 annually, especially in high-cost-of-living areas or within large tech companies. Such compensation often includes bonuses, stock options, and other incentives.

How to make $1000 a week remote?

Remote data engineers can earn $1000 or more per week by working on high-demand projects, leveraging specialized skills in data pipelines, cloud platforms, and programming languages like Python or SQL. Building a strong portfolio, obtaining relevant certifications, and working with multiple clients or on freelance platforms can help increase weekly income. Consistent remote work and advanced expertise are key to reaching this earning level.

Is AI replacing data engineers?

AI is automating certain tasks within data engineering, such as data cleaning and pipeline management, but it does not replace the need for data engineers. Data engineers are essential for designing, building, and maintaining complex data systems, and their expertise in tools like SQL, Python, and cloud platforms remains critical for managing data workflows effectively.

What is the difference between Remote Data Engineering vs Remote Data Analyst?

AspectRemote Data EngineeringRemote Data Analyst

GTM Engineer

Job description

ProService Hawaii is hiring a GTM Engineer to treat growth as an engineering problem. You will design and operationalize systems for demand capture, lead routing, and experimentation. Blending growth expertise with foundational engineering skills, you'll rapidly develop and instrumented, production-grade systems that serve as the foundation for our B2B growth motion.

IN THIS ROLE YOU WILL

  • Identify and prioritize the highest-leverage GTM motion to transform first: Partner with the marketing organization to surface opportunities, prioritize them for impact, and develop the strategy to act on them.

  • Build and ship working automations directly with Claude Code: Automate manual GTM processesโ€”such as research and outbound sequencingโ€”using Claude Code and event-driven tools (e.g., Zapier, n8n). This includes taking prototypes to production and productizing tools for team-wide use.

  • Own the enrichment strategy: Define ICP segmentation and scoring, and build "signal-to-action" workflows that turn raw data into sales-ready intelligence for reps.

  • Design and run multi-channel prospecting pipelines: Built-in A/B testing (sequences, subject lines, send times), automated lead enrichment/scoring, and response-detection routing โ€” backed by deliverability infrastructure (SPF/DKIM/DMARC, domain warmup, bounce handling) that keeps it all landing in the inbox.

  • Support ABM & Paid Media: Orchestrate audience targeting on platforms like LinkedIn and Google, manage suppression and match-rate workflows, connect ad-platform engagement to down-funnel pipeline data, and build the testing/bidding automation that makes spend earn its keep.

  • Use AI to scale organic and inbound demand generation: Operationalize how ProService surfaces in search and AI-generated answers, how content shows up across the web, and tighten capture, routing, and speed-to-lead so inbound demand converts better.

IS THIS ROLE RIGHT FOR YOU?

We believe the next generation of growth leverage comes from people who can both reason about CAC/LTV and write the code that moves it. If you've spent time at a startup wearing the growth hat and the engineering hat โ€” instrumenting funnels, wiring up data pipelines, automating the manual stuff, prototyping with whatever tool gets you to a result fastest โ€” this role is built for you.

We operate with extremely fast iteration cycles and believe in showing, not telling. You'll build something, ship it, watch real numbers move, and iterate.

WHAT YOUโ€™LL BRING TO THE TEAM

  • Professional experience in GTM engineering, revenue technology, data engineering, or a closely related technical domain.

  • Strong bias toward action. You'd rather ship a working prototype and iterate than spec something to death. You're energized by a blank canvas, not intimidated by it.

  • Hands-on experience with workflow automation platforms (Zapier, n8n, Clay, or similar). You've shipped real automations, not just configured templates.

  • Familiarity with Salesforce. You understand the data model and have integrated with or automated within the CRM.

  • Experience connecting systems via APIs and comfort working with data integration tools (REST APIs, webhooks, OAuth, rate limiting, error handling)

GTM & Tooling

  • You think like an owner: not just closing tickets, but asking whether the right problems are being solved in the right way.

  • Deep understanding of sales, marketing, and revenue processes โ€” you know what GTM teams actually need from their systems, not just what they ask for.

  • You follow the AI space closely and have already built workflows with LLMs (Claude, ChatGPT, Gemini), not because it was assigned, but because you wanted to see what was possible

Plus (not required)

  • Experience with Snowflake or other data warehouses (Databricks, BigQuery).

  • Background in software engineering, data engineering, or a technical IC role.

  • Basic scripting in Python or JavaScript for custom workflow logic.

  • Prior experience in a high-growth or startup environment building foundational systems from scratch.

WORK LOCATION

Hawaii (Hybrid) or Pacific Time Zone (Remote)

We welcome applications from candidates based in Hawaii, who would work a hybrid schedule (in-office Tuesdayโ€“Thursday, option for remote Monday & Friday), as well as fully remote candidates based on the US Mainland. Remote candidates must be available during Hawaii Standard Time (HST / UTC-10) business hours, with preference given to those in the Pacific Time Zone.

COMPENSATION

$99,000.00 to $137,000.00 annually, commensurate with experience.

Compensation at ProService is tied to performance. Strong results are recognized and rewarded, and there are clear paths to advance within the GTM function and across the broader organization. We set high expectations and back them with real investment in the people who deliver.
