Job description

Position Summary:

ultrainnovative - Tackle rare and dynamic challenges

Theย Associate Director (AD) of Disease Monitoring Programs (DMPs)ย isย a visible leadership roleย accountable forย the strategicย planningย andย oversight for one or more assignedย DMPs.ย ย DMPsย are a novel approach to GCP-compliant long-term data collection for rare diseases from pre-approval through post marketing. Theย ADย will collaborate with other functional leaders at both tactical and strategic levels.ย ย ย 

Work Model:ย 

Remote: Officially documented as working full-time from home, with travel to Ultragenyx's offices or other locations on occasion as needed.

Responsibilities:
  1. Process optimization and execution in providing real world evidence to key stakeholders including patients, providers, researchers, and patient advocacy groupsย 
  2. Ensureย evidence strategy alignment throughout the development cycle for a program and across functionsย 
  3. Implement best practices for one or moreย assignedย DMPs toย monitorย key deliverables (e.g.ย evidence generation, achievement of goals, financial health)ย 
  4. Provide input onย the development ofย protocols, goals and endpoints tables, case report forms, IEPs, publications,ย Steeringย Committeesย and other relevant deliverablesย 
  5. Represent the DMPย S&Mย function on the project teams, such as the Development Sub-Team, Core Teams (as applicable),ย etcย 
  6. Trainย and mentor cross-functionalย personnelย working on DMPs as neededย 
Requirements:
  1. Bachelorย degree or equivalent required (scientific or healthcare discipline preferred)ย 
  2. 7+ years of progressively challenging experience in clinicalย researchย and/orย drug developmentย 
  3. Critical thinking skills coupled with innovative approaches to problem solvingย 
  4. Comfortable managing and presenting to senior level stakeholdersย 
  5. Comprehensive understanding of high-quality data generationย appropriate forย regulatory, scientific, payer,ย physicianย and patient requirements to advance the understanding of rare diseases and their treatment/managementย 
  6. Ability to provideย operationalย expertiseย to a clinical development programย 
  7. Working knowledgeable ofย regulatory agencyย regulations and ICH GCP guidelines isย requiredย 
  8. Familiar with advanced concepts of clinical researchย (including complex study designs)ย and able to work effectively in a team/matrix environmentย ย 
  9. Strongย strategic planningย and decision-makingย skillsย 
  10. Ability to deal with time demands, incomplete information or unexpected eventsย 
  11. Excellent written and verbal skillsย required.ย ย Must display strong analytical andย problem solvingย skillsย ย ย 
  12. Willingย and ableย to travel domestically and internationallyย 
  13. Rare disease clinical trial experience desiredย
