The Actuarial Executive Development Program (AEDP) at The Cigna Group is a premier earlycareer pathway designed to develop ambitious, analytically driven actuarial professionals into future business leaders. Deliver analytical insights that inform pricing, reserving, forecasting, and risk decisions across healthcare and pharmacy businesses.

Translate complex data and actuarial analysis into clear, actionable recommendations for business partners.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in actuarial science, mathematics, statistics, finance, economics, data analytics, or a related field.

  • 0-2 years of relevant actuarial, analytical, or quantitative experience (internships and coops included).

  • Minimum 3.2 GPA

  • At least one SOA exam successfully completed

  • Uses data to solve realworld problems, think through tradeoffs, and connect analysis to business impact.

  • Comfortable working with data and modern analytical tools, including strong Excel skills, and exposure to Python, R, SQL, AIenabled tools, or other emerging technologies to support analysis and drive actionable insights.

  • Shows an understanding of business and financial fundamentals, connects analysis to business impact, and is eager to learn how actuarial work supports decisionmaking.

  • Communicates clearly, collaborates effectively, and works well across teams by listening actively and contributing thoughtfully.

  • Demonstrates early leadership potential by taking ownership, thinking strategically, embracing innovation, and influencing outcomes in changing or ambiguous environments with a desire to grow into leadership roles

  • Exposure to healthcare, insurance, or financial services environments is preferred.

  • This position is open only to individuals who are eligible for employment in the United States and who would not require visa support including H-1B or CPT/OPT/STEM, etc., now or in the future.

Additional Information:

  • Location: This position is based in one of the following office locations: Austin, TX; Bloomfield, CT; Denver, CO; Franklin, TN; or Philadelphia, PA.

  • Work Schedule: Hybrid workplace: A collaborative on-site work environment with the flexibility to work remotely two days per week. All associates are encouraged to come into the office regularly for collaboration, connection and networking opportunities.

  • Recruitment Process: The recruitment process is all conducted via live video including a screen with a recruiter, a first round interview, and a final round consisting of multiple interviews with actuarial leadership.

  • PreEmployment Requirements: Selected candidates will be required to complete mandatory preemployment tasks approximately 45 days prior to the program start date. Completion of the drug test requires availability within the United States during this timeframe.

  • Work Authorization:This position is open only to individuals who are eligible for employment in the United States and who would not require visa support including H-1B or CPT/OPT/STEM, etc., now or in the future.


If you will be working at home occasionally or permanently, the internet connection must be obtained through a cable broadband or fiber optic internet service provider with speeds of at least 10Mbps download/5Mbps upload.For this position, we anticipate offering an annual salary of 75,000 - 125,000 USD / yearly, depending on relevant factors, including experience and geographic location.

This role is also anticipated to be eligible to participate in an annual bonus plan.
