The following position is to join our RTX Enterprise Services team in Santa Isabel, Puerto Rico:
The Enterprise Infrastructure Services (EIS) organization at RTX is seeking a Cyber Defense Analyst to join our team. This position is ideal for a motivated technology professional with foundational networking or firewall experience who is eager to develop expertise in enterprise network security and Palo Alto firewall technologies. In this role, you will support the operation and maintenance of enterprise network security services while learning advanced firewall administration, troubleshooting, and security best practices. The successful candidate will demonstrate strong problem-solving skills, a desire for continuous learning, and the ability to work independently while collaborating with senior engineers and cross-functional teams.
What You Will Do
  • Support the administration and operation of enterprise firewall and network security platforms.
  • Assist with implementing and maintaining network security policies and controls.
  • Troubleshoot network connectivity and security issues under the guidance of senior engineers.
  • Learn and support Palo Alto Networks firewall technologies and related security services.
  • Monitor network security events and assist with incident investigation and resolution.
  • Work with internal customers and engineering teams to support secure and reliable network services.
  • Participate in a structured self-paced learning program utilizing computer-based training (CBT) and hands-on lab exercises. The learning path will include foundational networking concepts, core cybersecurity principles, and progressively advance to Palo Alto Networks technologies and firewall engineering. Each phase of training may culminate in obtaining an industry-recognized certification.
  • Participate in a rotational on-call schedule after completing training and demonstrating proficiency.
  • This position will reference written work instructions for guidance with daily job activities. Work instructions are available in English only.

Qualifications You Must Have
  • A University Degree or equivalent experience and minimum 2 years prior relevant experience.
  • 2+ years of experience in networking, firewalls, IT infrastructure, or cybersecurity.
  • Basic understanding of networking concepts including TCP/IP, routing, switching, DNS, and VPN technologies.

Qualifications We Prefer
  • Desire to develop into a Palo Alto Networks Firewall Engineer.
  • Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills with the ability to learn new technologies quickly.
  • Experience with enterprise firewalls (cisco, checkpoint, fortigate).
  • Familiarity with Palo Alto Networks products or other Next-Generation Firewall technologies.
  • Associate-level networking or security certifications (CCNA, Network+, Security+, or equivalent).
  • Demonstrated history of self-directed learning, lab work, home projects, or technical certifications that show initiative and a passion for technology.
