What is a remote customer service trainee?

A Remote Customer Service Trainee is an entry-level employee who is learning the skills needed to assist customers through phone, email, chat, or other digital channels, while working from home or another remote location. Trainees undergo training to understand company policies, products, and customer service techniques. The Travel Consultant/Advisor will provide ongoing customer support before, during, and after travel, handle inquiries via phone, email, and online channels, and maintain detailed records in booking and CRM systems. • Demonstrated Customer Service skills, with the ability to respond promptly, resolve issues, and maintain a professional, empathetic communication style.
  • Comfort using online booking tools, GDS or supplier portals, and basic office software (email, spreadsheets, and CRM or client tracking systems).
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with attention to detail and accuracy in documentation and itineraries.
  • Ability to work independently in a remote environment, manage time effectively, and handle multiple client requests and deadlines.
  • Familiarity with travel insurance, travel advisories, and basic regulatory or documentation requirements (passports, visas) is beneficial.
  • Previous experience in travel, hospitality, tourism, or a related customer-facing role is preferred but not strictly required.
