They use phone, email, chat, or other online communication tools to assist customers with issues related to products, services, orders, or accounts. This role requires strong communication skills, problem-solving abilities, and proficiency with digital platforms. Quill, a Staples company, is looking for a driven Inside Sales Site Development Representative to help grow relationships with existing and prospective customer locations connected to our managed account base. In this role, you will partner closely with account management, respond to customer needs, prepare negotiated quotes and special pricing, and make outbound calls that help reactivate customers, uncover new opportunities, and expand share of wallet. This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys customer conversations, thrives in a goal-oriented environment, and wants to build a strong foundation in business-to-business sales.

  • Negotiate pricing and process special quotes for customer opportunities.
  • Use customer insights, including order history, to guide quality conversations.
  • Leverage specialized offers and Quill’s value proposition to help customers place orders and meet monthly quotas and key metrics.
  • Maintain consistent communication with account managers to share customer trends and pricing solution opportunities.
  • Partner with sales specialists and support teams to identify opportunities beyond traditional office supplies, including furniture, technology, high-value quotes, print, and promotional products.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date activity, pipeline, and customer records in CRM.
  • Apply coaching and feedback from managers and peers to continuously improve sales approach and performance.

What you bring to the table

  • Motivation to build customer relationships that create measurable value and growth.
  • Clear, confident communication with customers and internal partners across calls, follow-up, and solution-focused conversations.
  • Curiosity and strong listening skills to understand customer needs, ask thoughtful questions, and uncover opportunities.
  • A problem-solving mindset with the ability to connect customer needs to relevant products, programs, or solutions.
  • Comfort making outbound calls, engaging customers, and continuing forward after rejection or setbacks.
  • Strong organization, time management, and follow-through when balancing customer conversations, priorities, and activity goals.
  • Adaptability and willingness to learn quickly as customer needs, business priorities, or sales approaches change.
  • A customer-first approach focused on creating a positive, helpful, and professional experience in every interaction.
  • Collaborative mindset with a willingness to share ideas, apply feedback, and learn from managers, peers, and business partners.
  • Composure and critical thinking when prioritizing next steps, solving customer challenges, and supporting sales goals.
