VCF Network Engineer 2

Design and manage NSX overlay topology, routing, and segmentation patterns across multiple VCF sites. Implement and optimize distributed firewall policy, micro-segmentation controls, and east-west traffic security models. Administer and tune load balancing services for application delivery, resiliency, and service availability. Manage physical data center fabric components, including BGP peering, routing design, failover behavior, and switch policy standards. Coordinate network dependencies with platform engineering, storage, security, and automation teams. Contribute to integration of networking with broader VCF platform tooling, such as lifecycle operations, automation workflows, and service consumption patterns. Support planning for WAN handoff architecture, site connectivity models, and service boundary design with campus/WAN teams. Participate in implementation of private cloud connectivity patterns, including secure interconnect and hybrid connectivity use cases. Create and maintain standards, design documentation, implementation procedures, and operational runbooks.

Schedule & Presence: This on-site role supports 24/7 operations through real-time collaboration, standard shifts occur within a 6:00 AM - 6:00 PM window, Monday through Friday. Additionally, this position requires scheduled on-call flexibility and the ability to remain reasonably reachable during off-hours for critical business continuity.

Preferred Qualifications: VCP-NV, VCAP-NV, CCNP, or equivalent certification. Experience with Avi Load Balancer in a production environment. Experience with network automation using Ansible, Terraform, Python, or APIs. Exposure to WAN technologies and protocols such as MPLS, SD-WAN, EVPN/VXLAN, route redistribution, and policy-based routing. Familiarity with private cloud connectivity services and hybrid connectivity design patterns. Experience contributing to standardized network service offerings in private cloud environments.

Required Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent experience. Minimum 5 years of experience in network architecture, software-defined networking, or enterprise data center networking. Hands-on experience with VMware NSX / NSX-T administration and design. Strong experience with BGP, OSPF, routing policy, and traffic engineering fundamentals. Experience with spine-leaf architecture and physical/virtual network integration. Experience implementing micro-segmentation and distributed security controls in production. Experience administering Layer 4–7 load balancing platforms. Working knowledge of adjacent VCF platform tools and workflows outside the core network domain.
