Network Engineer
The Opportunity:
Network and install systems on dedicated infrastructure and ensure the network and infrastructure is functional and highly available, including critical updates and patching. Provide customers insight into their network through monitoring and performance management. Identify problem areas and opportunities for improvement in a mission-critical network. Accomplish work without considerable direction and look for ways to improve infrastructure performance using the latest technology and best practices. Increase team knowledge of the network by turning metrics into information and explaining their meaning. Share expertise through leadership and mentoring to develop core competencies with assigned team members. Work through challenges, develop new methodologies, and document and generate standard operating procedures. Identify new opportunities to modernize the network to help your customers meet their needs.
You Have:
  • 5+ years of experience with systems administration
  • 5+ years of experience with network engineering, network tuning, Red Hat Enterprise Linux, or CentOS
  • Experience managing virtual machine software defined switching and assisting with policy creation using VMware ESXi and vCenter
  • Knowledge of Network Attached Storage design patterns
  • Knowledge of planning and implementing Layer 2 and 3 network architecture, access controls, and associated polices using multiple vendor components
  • Knowledge of bi-directional network transfer systems, RMF, and applying security controls
  • Knowledge of Linux firewalls, networking configuration, LDAP, and Certificates and Domain Name Systems
  • TS/SCI clearance with a polygraph
  • HS diploma or GED
  • Ability to obtain DoD 8570.1 IAT Level II Compliant Certification within 60 days of start date

Nice If You Have:
  • Experience with AWS and managing systems using Infrastructure as Code (IaC) technologies, including Salt, Ansible, Puppet, PowerShell, Chef, and Terraform
  • Experience with Python, YAML, or JSON
  • DoD 8570.1 IAT Level II Compliant Certification

Salary at Booz Allen is determined by various factors, including but not limited to location, the individual's particular combination of education, knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience, as well as contract-specific affordability and organizational requirements. The projected compensation range for this position is $77,600.00 to $176,000.00 (annualized USD). The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position and is just one component of Booz Allen's total compensation package for employees.
