Job description

Platform Infrastructure Engineer (GCP) - Full Time - US-based Remote (Occasional Travel)
We're seeking a Platform Infrastructure Engineer (GCP) to lead and support modernization and migration efforts across critical cloud infrastructure programs. This role is ideal for engineers with hands-on experience in infrastructure automation, IaC (Terraform), and GCP-native services.
You'll work across cross-functional teams to design, implement, and manage secure, scalable, and automated infrastructure platforms, contributing to digital transformation efforts for public sector clients.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Design and implement cloud-native infrastructure on Google Cloud Platform (GCP) to support scalable, secure workloads.
  • Lead or contribute to cloud migration and legacy modernization initiatives from on-prem to GCP.
  • Develop, maintain, and review Terraform modules and enforce IaC best practices for infrastructure provisioning and management.
  • Collaborate with Architects, Security, and Networking teams to ensure platforms meet compliance, performance, and resiliency requirements.
  • Implement and maintain CI/CD pipelines, monitoring/logging solutions, and automated guardrails.
  • Participate in incident response, troubleshooting, and continuous improvement of production infrastructure.
  • Support documentation and knowledge sharing around infrastructure architecture, standards, and runbooks.

Required Qualifications:
  • 3-5 years of hands-on experience in cloud infrastructure engineering, with at least 1+ years on GCP.
  • Proven experience with infrastructure migration (on-prem to GCP or multi-cloud to GCP).
  • Proficiency in networking concepts, VPC design, IAM policies, cloud security, and resource provisioning in GCP.
  • Solid hands-on expertise in Terraform and IaC practices. Experience with one or more scripting languages - Python, Bash, or similar languages.
  • Working knowledge of CI/CD, monitoring/logging tools (e.g., Cloud Operations, Prometheus/Grafana, etc.).

Preferred/Nice-to-Have Qualifications:
  • GCP certifications (e.g., Professional Cloud Architect, Associate Cloud Engineer, or DevOps Engineer).
  • Knowledge of multi-region HA/DR architecture design
  • Experience aligning infrastructure with compliance frameworks like FedRAMP
  • Background in site reliability engineering (SRE).
  • Exposure to cloud cost optimization tools and FinOps practices
  • Familiarity with containerized workloads and orchestration (e.g., Kubernetes, GKE).
