Role Overview
The Senior Infrastructure Engineer supports a large-scale, multi-tenant hosting environment built on Microsoft Hyper-V and hyper-converged infrastructure (HCI). This role manages and maintains multi-cluster virtualization environments supporting hosted workloads across multiple tenants, high-performance 100Gb fiber networking, and storage components. This is a short-term (1 to 2-month) contract engagement requiring immediate availability, exceptional communication skills, and rapid onboarding ability.
Key Responsibilities

Hyper-V Virtualization & Multi-Tenant Administration
• Manage, maintain, and optimize Microsoft Hyper-V virtualization across a large-scale, multi-cluster hosting environment.
• Administer multi-tenant infrastructure, ensuring proper workload, network, and resource isolation across hosted environments.
• Support infrastructure deployments, cluster upgrades, data migrations, and performance optimizations.
Hyper-Converged Infrastructure & High-Speed Networking
• Administer hyper-converged infrastructure (HCI) integrating compute, storage, virtualization, and networking resources.
• Manage and support high-performance 100Gb fiber networking and high-speed connectivity between infrastructure nodes.
• Monitor system health, performance metrics, storage capacity, and overall infrastructure availability.
Troubleshooting & Infrastructure Operations
• Troubleshoot complex technical issues across virtualization layers, server hardware, storage arrays, and high-speed networks.
• Ensure high availability, redundancy, and scalability across multi-cluster hosted environments.
• Document operational procedures, infrastructure configurations, and technical troubleshooting guides.
Required Qualifications
• 5 or more years of experience supporting Microsoft Hyper-V in enterprise or multi-tenant hosting environments.
• Strong hands-on experience managing clustered and multi-cluster virtualization environments.
• Demonstrated expertise with hyper-converged infrastructure (HCI) technology stacks.
• Deep understanding of enterprise networking, including high-speed fiber and 100Gb network environments.
• Experience administering multi-tenant environments, including tenant isolation strategies and resource allocation.
• Advanced troubleshooting capabilities across servers, virtualization, storage networks, and clustering.
• Immediate availability for a short-term (1 to 2-month) contract engagement.
Preferred Qualifications
• Located in or near the Tri-State area (NY, NJ, CT).
• Experience in cloud hosting provider, managed service provider (MSP), or data center environments.
• Relevant Microsoft or networking certifications.
Core Skills & Attributes
• Exceptional, crystal-clear verbal and written communication skills for interfacing with team members and technical stakeholders.
• Strong self-sufficiency to onboard quickly and troubleshoot high-impact hosting issues with minimal direction.
