Summary
You will serve as a RECORDS AND INFORMATION MANAGEMENT SPECIALIST in the Service Treatment Records Unit (STRU), Records and Performance Section (MMPB-2), Manpower Management Performance Branch (MMPB), Manpower Management Division (MM), Manpower & Reserve Affairs Department (M& RA) of HQ US MARINE CORPS.

Duties
Help
  • You will be responsible for retrieving Statement Treatment Record Unit (STRU) mail from designated pickup locations aboard the installation and transporting mail for further processing by the STR contract team.
  • You will oversee shipment of physical records approved for destruction or travel to the National Archives and Records Administration (NARA) for long-term storage.
  • You will aid STRU contract personnel in obtaining access to DoD, DHA, or VA systems that are required for the processing of STRs.
  • You will be involved in all phases of processing STR from cradle to grave (e.g. record receiving, document preparation, scanning, record review, data validation, assembly).

  • This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
  • You will be required to complete training, obtain, and maintain a government credit card for travel and travel-related purchases.

Qualifications
GS-09: Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-07 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Administering and implementing a records management program by interpreting laws and regulations and recommending solutions for the entire life cycle phases (e.g., records creation, maintenance, use and disposition) to ensure compliance with applicable laws, regulations, and policies.
GS-07: Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade level (GS-05) or pay band in the federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector performing most or all of the following: 1) Analyzing and interpreting regulatory, policy, and legal issues related to records management to ensure compliance with established standards; 2) Developing summaries of case facts derived from records management process to provide understanding of case record history; and 3) Identifying and evaluating critical components from records to ensure pertinent details are included in case assessments and processing.
