Job description

Experienced Mortgage Loan Originator | Georgia

Middle Georgia – Metro Atlanta | Competitive, Production-Based Compensation

We have a problem most mortgage companies would love to have: more opportunity than we currently have the capacity to handle.

Our company is growing—and we're looking for an experienced Mortgage Loan Originator who wants to grow with us.

We are a locally owned, relationship-driven mortgage brokerage experiencing significant growth and increasing loan volume. We're looking for an experienced, licensed Loan Originator who can step into an established operation, help manage company-generated opportunities, and build their own book of business alongside ours.

This is not a commission-only "here's a desk, now go find business" opportunity.

We are looking for someone who knows how to originate, understands how to structure a loan, can problem-solve when a file isn't perfectly straightforward, and knows how to create an exceptional experience for borrowers and referral partners.

In return, we're prepared to offer a highly competitive compensation plan designed to rival the major players in the mortgage industry—with even greater earning potential for Loan Originators who generate their own volume.

We are built around a simple philosophy:

We are relationship-forward, not transactional.

Our goal isn't simply to close a loan and move on to the next file. We build lasting relationships with our clients, Realtors, builders, investors, and referral partners—and we expect anyone joining our team to operate with that same mentality.

You'll have the opportunity to work directly within a growing company, have access to existing business opportunities, help shape how we continue to grow, and be rewarded as your individual production grows.

For the right person, this has the potential to become much more than simply another Loan Originator position.

What You'll Do

  • Consult with borrowers to understand their financial goals and identify the best financing strategy for their situation.
  • Take and manage mortgage applications from initial conversation through loan structuring and handoff to processing.
  • Originate Conventional, FHA, VA, USDA, Jumbo, investment and other available mortgage products.
  • Review income, assets, credit and liabilities to properly structure loans before submission.
  • Run and interpret automated underwriting findings and identify potential issues early in the process.
  • Problem-solve complex borrower scenarios rather than simply passing problems down the line.
  • Present loan options clearly so borrowers understand both the numbers and the strategy behind their financing.
  • Maintain proactive communication with borrowers, Realtors and other transaction partners.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with Realtors and referral partners throughout Georgia.
  • Manage company-generated opportunities while developing your own referral relationships and production.
  • Utilize loan origination and CRM systems to maintain accurate, organized and compliant loan files.
  • Work collaboratively with processing and leadership to keep transactions moving efficiently from application through closing.

Who We're Looking For

Required:

  • Active Mortgage Loan Originator license
  • Minimum 3 years of mortgage lending/origination experience
  • Strong working knowledge of Conventional, FHA and VA lending
  • Ability to independently take, review and properly structure a mortgage application
  • Experience running and interpreting AUS findings
  • Strong understanding of credit, income, assets and mortgage qualification
  • Excellent borrower and Realtor communication skills
  • Ability to manage multiple active transactions and priorities simultaneously
  • Strong attention to detail and follow-through
  • High level of personal accountability

Highly Preferred:

  • Georgia MLO license and established familiarity with the Georgia real estate market
  • Existing Realtor, builder or referral relationships
  • Previous personal loan production
  • Experience with VA, FHA, Conventional, USDA, JUMBO, investment, DSCR and/or Non-QM lending
  • Experience troubleshooting challenging or complex loan scenarios
  • Understanding of underwriting guidelines and credit-risk assessment
  • Desire to actively grow a personal book of business

Compensation & Growth

We believe exceptional Loan Originators should be compensated exceptionally.

LH Lending will provide a competitive compensation structure designed to compete with major mortgage companies while offering the flexibility and upside of working within a growing independent business.

Compensation will be structured based on experience, responsibilities, production and the amount of self-generated business.

The greater your individual production, the greater your earning potential. For an LO who wants to originate company opportunities while building their own business, we are prepared to create a compensation structure that rewards both.

Most importantly, you care about the relationship after the closing just as much as the transaction before it.

If you're an experienced Loan Originator who wants the resources and opportunity to produce at a high level without becoming another number inside a massive mortgage company, we'd like to talk.

Join LH Lending and help us build what's next.

Active MLO licensing and applicable state licensing requirements must be satisfied prior to originating loans.
