Job description

Aon is looking for an experienced Underwriter to join our growing Time Away & Life Solutions (TALS) Consulting Practice.

This is a hybrid role with the flexibility to work both virtually and from one of our offices in the United States.

What the day will look like

As a underwriter within the Time Away & Life Solutions (TALS) Consulting Practice, you will be leading large complex clients and presenting your analysis in a client-facing role.  You will be responsible for training and development of the offshore COE team, and follow a formal peer review process, to drive the financial strategy for our clients.

Our team focuses on National Account clients.  With the evolving need for leave industry there is constant need for strategy development and cost modeling to ensure that clients remain compliant and competitive in the marketplace.  This team is comprised of colleagues with different backgrounds and skillsets that collaborate with each other to deliver for our clients. 

Skills and experience that will lead to success 

The candidate should have financial technical skills with regards to disability, life insurance, FMLA and municipal/state regulated leaves, and voluntary benefits.

  • Strong technical underwriting and analytical skills, with the ability to evaluate risk and interpret complex benefit programs
  • Ability to support project execution through effective planning, coordination, and timely delivery of assigned workstream components
  • Solid organizational and project management skills to manage multiple priorities and deadlines
  • Applies professional principles and sound business judgment to support the development and refinement of processes, procedures, and solutions
  • Contributes to the adoption of best practices by consistently applying established processes, tools, and methodologies to support quality and efficiency
  • Understanding of industry trends, data analysis, and evolving market dynamics impacting underwriting and benefit programs
  • Project Management, Benefits Administration, Consulting, Data Analysis, Data Management, Meeting Facilitation

Pay Transparency Laws:

Salary range for the position

The salary range for this position (intended for U.S. applicants) is $125,000 - $145,000.00 annually. The actual salary will vary based on applicant’s education, experience, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity and alignment with market data.  The salary may also be adjusted based on applicant’s geographic location.
This position is eligible to participate in one of Aon’s annual incentive plans to receive an annual discretionary bonus in addition to base salary.  The amount of any bonus varies and is subject to the terms and conditions of the applicable incentive plan.

For positions in San Francisco and Los Angeles, we will consider for employment qualified applicants with arrest and conviction record in accordance with local Fair Chance ordinances.
