Compassionate Counseling, LLC is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC, LCSW, or LMFT) to join our expanding team. • Conduct individual and group therapy sessions via telehealth platforms to ensure accessibility for clients.
• Perform comprehensive bio-psycho-social assessments to understand client backgrounds and establish effective treatment plans.
• Facilitate skill-building sessions focusing on coping mechanisms, anger management, and social skills development.
• Address risk behaviors such as self-injury and physical aggression through targeted intervention strategies.
• Enhance decision-making and behavioral management skills for clients and their support systems, particularly caregivers navigating in-home challenges.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members and external professionals to provide holistic support to clients and their families.
• Accurately document all client interactions, treatment plans, and progress notes within the specified timelines to maintain compliance and continuity of care.
• Participate in monthly team meetings and submit weekly reports to keep communication channels open and productive.

You will primarily work with a diverse group of adults experiencing various mental health conditions. This may include individuals dealing with anxiety, depression, trauma, and other significant life stressors. Our clients come from multifaceted backgrounds, bringing unique perspectives and needs that enrich the therapy experience. Your role will involve understanding and addressing these complexities, ensuring that each client receives individualized care tailored to their circumstances.

• A Master’s degree in Mental Health Counseling, Social Work, Family Therapy, or a related field is required.
• Current licensure as an LCSW, LMHC, or LMFT in New York State.
• Clinical Mental Health Experience and Training are mandatory.
• Completion of Crisis Intervention Training is highly desirable.
• Post-internship field experience working with adults in clinical settings is a plus.
• Proficiency in utilizing the DSM-V for accurate assessment and diagnosis.
• Familiarity with various therapeutic modalities, including CBT, DBT, Trauma-Informed Care, REBT, and Gestalt Therapy.

• Experience in creating and implementing treatment plans, including goal setting and progress evaluations.
• Demonstrated ability to provide positive behavior supports effectively.
• Experience in telehealth settings is a bonus, given our remote service model.
