Key Responsibilities
  • Deliver individual and group therapy sessions utilizing evidence-based practices tailored to clients’ unique needs.
  • Conduct comprehensive bio-psycho-social assessments to inform treatment planning and facilitate effective interventions.
  • Teach coping and social skills, provide anger management strategies, and assist clients in reducing high-risk behaviors, such as self-injurious actions.
  • Support clients in enhancing decision-making abilities and managing in-home behavioral challenges through direct skill-building exercises.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to coordinate care, share insights, and contribute to a holistic understanding of client needs.
  • Maintain detailed documentation including intake forms, treatment plans, progress notes, and discharge summaries within established timeframes.
  • Engage in ongoing professional development through mandatory meetings and submission of weekly paperwork to ensure quality care.
Patient Population / Client Focus

Qualifications
  • A master’s degree in Mental Health Counseling, Social Work, Family Therapy, or a closely related field is required.
  • Current licensure as an LCSW, LMHC, or LMFT in the State of New York.
  • Completion of Clinical Mental Health Training.
  • Field experience after internship working directly with adults facing a range of mental health issues.
  • Proficiency in treatment planning, goal setting, and conducting initial assessments.
Preferred Experience
  • Experience in utilizing various therapeutic approaches, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Rational Emotive Behavior Therapy (REBT), Gestalt Therapy, Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), and Trauma Response methods.
  • Familiarity with the DSM-V for assessments and diagnosis.
  • Previous engagement in providing positive behavior supports tailored to individual client needs.
