Job description

Creative Lead, Capital One Shopping (Remote-Eligible)

Capital One is seeking a Performance Creative Lead to drive the creative strategy for our fastest-growing consumer product. In this role, you will act as a creative visionary and performance marketing athlete, leading the creative vision for social, video, and display content to accelerate mobile app adoption and user acquisition.

You will work closely with the entire Growth team (specifically partnering with individual channel owners), Capital One's Brand team, and third-party agencies and creator partners to build a high-volume, high-converting ad engine.

What You'll Do

  • Lead Performance Creative Strategy: Own and drive the creative vision and strategy for social, video, and display advertising to fuel user acquisition for Capital One's fastest-growing consumer product. Focus on performance metrics, conversion drivers, and channel growth to drive the next wave of user acquisition

  • Scale App-Focused Channels: Lead creative execution across mobile app acquisition campaigns, developing winning, native-first creative concepts specifically tailored for major channels

  • Manage Content Sourcing & Creative Pipeline: Establish, scale, and manage a robust content sourcing engine. Collaborate with external creators, third-party agencies, customer partners, and internal creative teams to produce high-performing video, static, and text ads.

  • Drive Creative Testing & Iteration: Manage a high-volume performance creative pipeline, including writing briefs, analyzing video metrics (e.g., hook rates, watch time), and collaborating with design teams to rapidly iterate on ad assets. Translate channel-specific performance data into clear creative insights and testing roadmaps.

  • Collaborate Cross-Functionally: Work hand-in-hand with the entire Growth team-specifically collaborating with individual channel owners-to align creative production with channel budgets, scaling targets, and growth goals. Partner with Capital One's Brand team to ensure brand safety parameters while pushing the boundaries of performance creative.

  • Ensure Compliance & Operational Excellence: Audit active campaigns and maintain strict adherence to existing compliance processes within a highly regulated corporate environment. Liaise with internal risk and legal teams to document and quickly remediate any compliance issues.

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree or military experience.

  • At least 5 years of experience in digital marketing, performance marketing, or paid acquisition.

  • At least 3 years of experience driving creative strategy and execution for paid social, video, or display advertising channels.

  • At least 3 years of experience managing creative testing pipelines and partnering closely with paid media channel owners.

Preferred Qualifications

  • At least 7 years of experience in digital marketing, paid media, or performance marketing.

  • Proven track record as a meaningful contributor to a successful mobile app's rapid growth through conversion-focused performance creative.

  • Deep hands-on experience designing winning performance creative for app-focused acquisition channels, specifically Meta, TikTok, and Reddit.

  • Expertise in sourcing and scaling ad content through diverse channels, including user-generated content (UGC), creator networks, third-party agencies, and internal studios.

  • Experience managing a high-volume performance creative pipeline, including writing briefs, analyzing video metrics (e.g., hook rates, watch time), and collaborating with design teams to rapidly iterate on ad assets.

  • Strong experience navigating strict compliance, legal, and risk frameworks within a highly regulated industry or corporate environment.

  • Excellent stakeholder management skills, with the ability to translate complex channel data into clear, high-level business insights and strategic roadmaps for executive leadership.
