Overview
The Technical Services Engineer (TSE) I is a technical expert who supports Integrated Solutions (IS) project delivery as a member ofIS Technical Services (TS) team. The TSE will provide technical authority and direction in the development and successful implementation of energy conservation measures for retro-commissioning (RCx) activities.The role provides technical authority in all phases of the commissioning (Cx) process and collaborates with the engineer of record in system optimization, and solutions development in the field. Additionally the TSE supports standards and process development, as well as training and mentorship of TS staff. The role works in close collaboration with project energy managers, and TS team managers to ensure project outcomes are met.
A TSE has a very high level of experience and expertise in the fields of MEP design and implementation with emphasis on building automation and energy management.
Responsibilities
  • Pre-Engineering
    • Provides technical assistance to pre-engineering teams during data collection surveys.
  • Design and Pre-Construction
    • Leads site surveys to determine existing facility conditions and the requirements to complete the scope of work.
    • Develops energy conservation strategies to execute the project scope of work related to retro-commissioning and assists design team with integration of all energy conservation strategies to ensure all systems have a comprehensive and unified approach to energy management.
    • Reviews Requests For Proposals (RFPs) for equipment and services procurement to ensure project outcomes are accounted for.
    • Collaborates with the engineering of projects in accordance with engineering best practices, company standards, and in compliance with any and all applicable codes.
    • Assists the project team with review of critical equipment and system submittals for conformance with contract documents and project outcome requirements.
    • Conducts commissioning and occasional peer reviews of design documents.
    • Advises the project team, in collaboration with the engineer of record, on the technical and resource requirements necessary to meet project outcomes
  • Construction and Acceptance
    • Assists the project team with site visits to review progress, quality of installation, and identify deficiencies.
    • Troubleshoots equipment/system installation and setup problems.
    • Provides technical support to the implementation team to complete the project requirements and meet project outcomes.
    • Assists in the optimization of complex equipment/system upgrades.
  • Other
    • Identifies gaps in project execution and creates standards/processes to solve the issues.
    • Supports or develops new tools supporting project execution.
    • Problem solves system integration and operation of systems.
    • Upholds and promotes the ENFRA brand by guaranteeing excellence in the execution of work and ensuring a positive client experience.
    • Performs the assigned duties with minimal supervision, while working in a team problem-solving environment.
    • Provides leadership, coaching, and/or mentoring to other employees within the Technical Services organization.
    • Completes technical reports or related documents as required.
    • Develops training material for Technical Services teams.
    • Provides post-implementation on-site operations and maintenance training for staff.
    • Informs significant business decisions while successfully executing other project assignments.
    • Provides a technical focus and balance between project constraints and required outcomes for the Technical Services organization
    • Any other duties as assigned by company leadership.

Qualifications
Required Education, Experience, and Qualifications
  • 4-6 years of experience in engineering design, energy management, or retro-commissioning.
  • Professional Mechanical Engineering (PE) license.
  • Possesses expert technical knowledge of the subject matter.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills and Customer/Client orientation.
  • Leadership skills with the ability to develop and mentor others.
  • Ability to problem solve and analyze complex systems.
  • Detail-oriented and willing to tackle various ongoing projects with competing deadlines.
  • Ability to multitask and perform duties outside of the scope of work when necessary.
Preferred Education, Experience, and Qualifications
  • Central Energy Plant (CEP), Healthcare, or Higher Education project experience.
  • Chilled Water, Heating Water, Steam, and Tower Water system project experience.
  • Hydronic system distribution project experience.
  • Building automation, controls, and systems integration project experience
  • Test and Balance project experience
  • Energy Management project experience
  • AutoCAD and REVIT.
Travel Requirements
  • 40%-60% of time will be spent traveling to job site(s)/office location.

Pay Range
USD $97,218.00 - USD $129,767.00 /Yr.
