Position Summary
Watchmaker is inviting applications for the full-time, remote position of Technical Marketing Manager. The successful candidate will thrive in a dynamic, fast-paced working environment and contribute directly to our company culture and success.
The position provides an opportunity to develop impactful marketing content, collaborate with cross-functional teams, and drive brand visibility through strategic campaigns, product launches, and industry events.
Responsibilities
- Simplify complex NGS technical concepts into clear and engaging content that resonates with our audience.
- Support the planning, production, and implementation of marketing activities per the strategic plan.
- Develop content for product launch and positioning, including brochures, web landing pages, and FAQs.
- Develop content for marketing needs, including long form articles, video scripts, infographics, advertisements, emails, newsletters, and application notes.
- Draft and edit press releases, blog, and social posts that raise brand awareness.
- Research and understand our target audience to produce compelling content, and work with cross-functional teams to align on messaging.
- Maintain a working understanding of Watchmaker's product offerings and stay current on applications relevant to Watchmaker's portfolio.
- Identify relevant industry events and trade shows that present opportunities for brand exposure, lead generation, and networking.
- Support tradeshow attendance by developing show strategy and executing on key deliverables, including the generation of presentations, landing pages, handouts, social, and outreach emails.
Skills and Requirements

- Technical knowledge of next-generation sequencing and associated genomic, transcriptomic, and epigenomic applications.
- Ability to synthesize complex technical information into content that engages both scientific and non-scientific audiences.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- The ability to multitask, be able to work at a high standard, perform consistently under pressure along with pre-determined deadlines and work without supervision.
- Strong interpersonal skills and an ability to work as an effective member of a team.
- Good communication and personal task management skills and a high level of self-motivation and initiative.

- Exceptional writing, editing, and proofreading skills.

- Master's degree with 6 years relevant experience
- Bachelor's degree with 8 years relevant experience
- Experience in biotech and a start-up environment are highly desirable.
Compensation
The base compensation for the Technical Marketing Manager role starts at $100,000 - $120,000 + bonus + equity; actual pay will be adjusted based on skills and experience. Employees are eligible for Flexible Time Off, Holidays, employer covers 75% of base medical plan with buy-up options, EAP (employee assistance program), employer paid dental, employer paid vision, employer paid $25,000 life/AD&D policy, paid parental leave, and a 401(k) retirement plan with a 4% match.
