Remote Creative Agency information

What is a remote creative agency?

A remote creative agency is a company that offers creative services—such as branding, graphic design, advertising, marketing, web development, and content creation—while operating entirely online. Its team members collaborate remotely from different locations, leveraging digital tools to manage projects and communicate with clients. This setup allows for flexibility, access to a global talent pool, and often lower overhead costs compared to traditional agencies with physical offices.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive in a remote creative agency role?

To thrive in a remote creative agency role, you need a strong background in design or marketing, creativity, project management, and relevant education or experience in creative fields. Familiarity with industry-standard tools such as Adobe Creative Suite, project management platforms like Asana or Trello, and communication tools like Slack or Zoom is essential. Excellent communication, self-motivation, and time management are key soft skills that help you collaborate and deliver results remotely. These skills ensure high-quality creative output, smooth teamwork, and the ability to meet client needs in a distributed work environment.

How does working in a remote creative agency impact collaboration and project management compared to traditional in-office settings?

Working in a remote creative agency often means relying heavily on digital tools for communication and project management. Teams typically use platforms like Slack, Zoom, and project management software (such as Asana or Trello) to coordinate tasks, share feedback, and keep projects on track. While this setup offers flexibility and access to a wider talent pool, it can present challenges such as coordinating across time zones and maintaining clear communication. Successful remote agencies usually have well-established processes for virtual brainstorming, regular check-ins, and transparent documentation to ensure that everyone stays aligned and creative output remains high.

Job description

Who We Are

Sans is on a mission to build the next great consumer hardware brand, with a laser focus on products that help people live healthier lives at home. We started with a category-leading air purifier before expanding to a best-in-class countertop water purifier that actually works to eliminate harmful contaminants - and our product roadmap is just getting started.

We're a small, ambitious team that believes deeply in our ability to create a meaningful consumer brand. We move fast, learn quickly, and consistently outperform much larger competitors.

Your Role

As Creative Strategist, you own the ideas that sell Sans. You'll sit at the intersection of brand, growth, and production - translating customer insight and performance data into ad concepts, briefing them out to a team of internal creatives and external partners, and making sure every paid channel has a steady supply of work that performs. This role reports directly into our Director of Growth and is a hands-on ownership role: you'll set the creative strategy across our entire paid portfolio, and you'll be accountable for driving creative performance.

Requirements

Responsibilities and Duties

  • Creative Strategy & Concepting
    • Own creative strategy end to end across our paid channels - including but not limited to Meta, Pinterest, AppLovin, TikTok, YouTube, Google Display, and CTV
    • Develop original ad concepts rooted in customer insight, competitive research, and performance learnings
    • Write creative briefs and direction that give internal teams and agency partners everything they need to execute without a dozen follow-up questions
  • Roadmapping & Production
    • Build and maintain weekly and monthly creative flighting roadmaps that keep every channel stocked with fresh, on-strategy assets
    • Manage the concept-to-launch pipeline: timelines, asset volume, revisions, and delivery, so nothing stalls between idea and live ad
  • Partner & Team Management
    • Serve as the day-to-day owner of our creative agency partnerships - translating creative needs, giving feedback, and holding partners to a high standard of quality and turnaround
    • Lead a growing team including in-house junior creative strategists and a network of creatives including video editors, designers, etc.
  • Performance & Cross-Functional Partnership
    • Work hand in hand with our Head of Growth and paid media team to understand account needs and translate them into the right creative at the right volume
    • Analyze creative performance - hook rates, hold rates, CTR, CPA, ROAS, and concept-level trends. Be able to turn what you find into a testing roadmap and clear point of view on what to make next

Qualifications and Skills

  • Experience:
    • Bachelor's Degree and equivalent work experience in a highly analytical role
    • 6 - 9 years of experience as a Creative Strategist for DTC brands
  • Interpersonal:
    • Strong leadership & communication skills: listen, reflect, proactively learn, and thoughtfully mentor
    • Ability to work effectively with different groups of individuals
    • Ability to manage multiple moving pieces - hard working, organized, and results oriented individual
    • Strong time management and prioritization skills

Applicants must be currently authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis.

Benefits

Hours and Compensation

The anticipated base compensation range for this role will be $125,000 - $142,000 annually, plus discretionary bonus and equity. Compensation will be commensurate with the candidate's experience and local market rates.

  • Job Type: Full-time
  • Position will be based out of Culver City, Los Angeles (Tu. - Th. in office/Mo. & Fr. remote)

Benefits & Perks

  • Option for fully paid medical, dental, and vision coverage
  • Opportunity to contribute to 401k
  • Unlimited PTO plus 11+ paid holidays
  • Monthly wellness stipend
  • Free Sans product!
