Remote Cpg information

What is a Remote CPG?

A Remote CPG (Consumer Packaged Goods) job involves working in the CPG industry from a remote location, rather than a traditional office or in-person setting. These roles can include positions in sales, marketing, supply chain management, e-commerce, and data analysis, among others. Employees in remote CPG jobs use digital tools to collaborate with teams, manage product distribution, analyze consumer trends, and develop marketing strategies. This flexibility allows professionals to work from anywhere while contributing to the success of CPG brands.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive in the Remote CPG position?

To thrive in a Remote CPG (Consumer Packaged Goods) role, you generally need a solid background in sales, marketing, or supply chain management within the CPG industry, often supported by a relevant degree. Familiarity with CRM software, data analytics tools, and project management platforms is typically required. Excellent communication, self-motivation, and problem-solving abilities help remote professionals collaborate effectively and drive business growth. These skills are essential to manage accounts, streamline operations, and maintain strong client and internal team relationships from a remote setting.

What are the primary challenges faced by professionals working in a Remote CPG position?

A major challenge for those in Remote CPG roles is maintaining strong client and team relationships without in-person meetings, which requires proactive communication and the effective use of collaboration tools. Remote professionals must manage their own schedules, prioritize tasks, and stay updated on market trends and consumer behavior independently. Adapting to changing demands and managing cross-functional projects remotely also presents unique hurdles. However, many organizations provide robust digital resources and regular virtual check-ins to support seamless coordination and professional development.

Location: Remote (Must reside in the Dallas–Fort Worth Metroplex, Austin, or Houston)

This Associate Category Manager role is built for someone who enjoys turning data into strategies that win at the shelf. You'll partner closely with Sales to support both Grocery and Military customers, transforming shopper, syndicated, and retailer data into recommendations that grow distribution, assortment, shelving, and category performance. This is more than reporting—you'll own the process from uncovering opportunities to delivering compelling insights that influence customer decisions. If you thrive in a fast-paced environment where insights lead directly to action, you'll have a meaningful impact on how Sazerac grows across two important channels.

What You'll Do

• Own the full process—from pulling and analyzing raw, imperfect data to developing insights and recommendations that support Grocery and Military growth strategies
• Identify opportunities across assortment, shelving, pricing, promotions, and merchandising using syndicated, shopper, retailer, and internal sales data
• Build dashboards, business reviews, and analytical tools that equip Sales and Category teams with actionable insights for customer discussions
• Monitor category performance, shopper trends, and competitive activity to uncover risks, opportunities, and emerging market trends
• Partner closely with Category Managers and Sales to support customer strategies, category reviews, and execution across Grocery and Military accounts

Required:

• Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, Economics, Analytics, or a related field
• 3+ years of experience in Category Management, Shopper Insights, Retail Analytics, or Customer Strategy within CPG, beverage, or retail industries
• Experience working with syndicated data (e.g., Circana, Nielsen) and visualization tools such as Excel, Power BI, or Tableau, with strong communication and data storytelling skills
• Highly organized, self-motivated, and able to manage multiple priorities independently in a fast-paced, remote environment with up to 10–15% travel

Preferred:

• Experience supporting both Regional Grocery and Military customers (DeCA, AAFES, NEXCOM)
• Experience with JDA, Blue Yonder, or other space planning/category management tools
• Experience in beverage alcohol, spirits, or other DSD categories
