Job description

Pay: From $29.00/hour
Type: Part-time 20–40 hours/week
Location: Remote — open to applicants anywhere in the U.S.

Equivity is seeking an experienced Employment Law Paralegal with a strong background in litigation support to assist attorneys handling active employment law matters.

This role is ideal for someone with hands-on experience in employment litigation who is comfortable supporting cases from intake through trial preparation and can work efficiently across multiple active matters in a fast-paced environment.

In this role, you will work as part of a dedicated, long-term team of legal professionals, partnering directly with attorneys while being fully supported by Equivity’s internal operations and leadership.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Draft pleadings, motions, and legal correspondence in employment law matter
  • Prepare, manage, and file court documents in accordance with applicable court rules and procedures
  • Handle all aspects of discovery, including drafting and responding to discovery requests and organizing productions
  • Prepare pre-trial documents, including exhibit lists, witness lists, trial binders, and exhibit books
  • Assist with trial preparation and provide support during trial, including potential in-court assistance
  • Manage case calendars, deadlines, and filings to ensure compliance with procedural requirements
  • Conduct legal research and assist with motion drafting and case strategy support
  • Prepare deposition outlines and summarize deposition transcripts
  • Review and organize case files, including employment records and other case-related documentation
  • Format and finalize documents in accordance with court requirements and attorney preferences
  • Utilize platforms such as Clio or similar case management systems for document and case organization
  • Support client intake, initial case assessments, and ongoing client communications
  • Perform administrative support tasks, including document formatting, PDF manipulation, and maintaining organized digital files
About You

  • Minimum 3 years of employment law litigation experience
  • Bachelor’s degree required
  • Experience with employment-related claims such as discrimination, harassment, wrongful termination, or retaliation
  • Strong experience supporting cases through the full litigation lifecycle, including trial preparation
  • Minimum availability of 20 hours/week
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and Adobe
  • Experience with Clio or similar systems is a plus
  • Availability during standard business hours (9:00 AM – 6:00 PM)
  • Windows-based computer preferred
  • Availability and responsiveness within 1 hour during standard business hours (9:00 AM – 6:00 PM)
