What is a remote cost segregation specialist?

A remote cost segregation specialist is a professional who performs cost segregation studies for clients from a remote location, rather than onsite. Cost segregation is a tax strategy that involves identifying and reclassifying personal property assets to accelerate depreciation deductions, which can significantly reduce taxable income for property owners.
