Job description

  • Job Type: Full-time, long-term contractor
  • Workplace: Hybrid
  • Schedule: Full-time, office hours

HireHawk connects skilled professionals with meaningful remote career opportunities at U.S. and Canadian companies across a wide range of industries. We believe strong talent is global, and we help candidates build stable remote careers with clear expectations, dedicated support, and high-quality client partnerships.
Our client is building more than beauty products. They are building a brand that people genuinely love.
As Senior Social Media Manager, you will own how the brand shows up across Instagram, TikTok, and emerging platforms. You will lead strategy, campaign development, copy, creator partnerships, community engagement, and performance reporting while managing a Social Media Coordinator and video editor. This is a highly visible, hands-on role where you might develop a campaign, brief a shoot, edit content, analyze performance, and present insights to leadership in the same week. You will work directly with the Founder and CEO, with meaningful room to expand your scope as the brand and team grow.
Responsibilities
  • Build and own a cross-platform social strategy that strengthens brand relevance, grows the community, and supports measurable business goals
  • Lead the social content calendar across Instagram, TikTok, and emerging channels, connecting daily content with major retail and direct-to-consumer moments
  • Develop campaign concepts from the first audience insight through creative production, launch, optimization, and reporting
  • Write distinctive, platform-native copy and captions that reflect the brand voice and motivate people to engage, share, shop, and return
  • Brief and direct video, photography, editing, and design work so every asset is clear, timely, and built for the platform where it will appear
  • Grow an active, loyal community by creating meaningful conversations and turning audience feedback into stronger content and brand decisions
  • Source, evaluate, and manage creators and influencers who can introduce the brand to relevant audiences with credibility
  • Lead and develop the Social Media Coordinator and video editor through clear priorities, useful feedback, and strong creative direction
  • Partner with Growth, Affiliate, Content, and TikTok Shop teams to connect social storytelling with acquisition, conversion, and retention initiatives
  • Turn platform analytics, cultural observations, and audience signals into practical recommendations for leadership, product, content, and brand strategy

Requirements
Must-Have:
  • 5 or more years of social media experience with a consumer brand, including direct ownership of strategy and execution
  • A track record of building cross-channel content strategies that increased audience growth, engagement, brand relevance, or revenue
  • Strong copywriting skills and the ability to adapt ideas, hooks, and language for different platforms
  • Hands-on content creation and editing ability using tools such as Canva, CapCut, Figma, or comparable platforms
  • Experience using social analytics and reporting tools such as Dash Social, Sprout Social, or similar platforms to guide decisions
  • Strong creative judgment, attention to detail, and the ability to move confidently between long-term strategy and daily execution
  • Based in the Los Angeles area and available to work in person several days per week for shoots, events, and meetings

Nice to Have:
  • Experience working in beauty, cosmetics, personal care, fashion, wellness, or another culturally relevant consumer category
  • Experience mentoring or managing junior team members, freelancers, editors, or content creators
  • Familiarity with TikTok Shop, affiliate marketing, creator-led commerce, or social-first retail launches
  • Experience supporting a brand through rapid retail expansion or significant audience growth
  • Confidence representing a brand at shoots, events, community activations, and creator partnerships

Benefits
  • We value culture as much as results - we want a leader who inspires the team, not just directs it.
  • We're a high-energy, creative team that pushes each other to be the best version of ourselves every day.
  • Like our products, we're ambitious, overachieving, and always juggling more than one thing at once.
  • Competitive compensation and the opportunity to significantly influence the future of the brand
  • Direct access to the founders and real ownership over our social and community strategy - your fingerprints will be on everything customers see across our channels
  • Flexible PTO policy
  • Generous medical benefits
