University of Washington Medical Center - Montlake's Cardiology Clinic has an outstanding opportunity for a REGISTERED NURSE (RN).
WORK SCHEDULE
  • 100% FTE, 40 hours/weekly
  • Day Shift, M - F, no weekends or holiday shifts allowing for work life balance in the beautiful northwest community

DEPARTMENT DESCRIPTION
The Heart Institute at UW Medical Center - Montlake & SLU provides a full range of heart healthcare and prevention services including general cardiology, cardiac diagnostic imaging tests and procedures, cardiac surgery, arrhythmia management and electrophysiology, interventional cardiology, structural heart services, advanced heart failure management, heart transplant and ventricular assist devices (VADs), adult congenital heart disease management, cardiac psychiatry, cardiovascular genetics and other advanced services.
POSITION HIGHLIGHTS
  • Engage in Cardiac Implantable Electronic Device monitoring, programming and management
  • Utilize strong analytical skills, meticulous attention to detail, and excellent phone-based triage and communication abilities
  • The RN will collaborate with our multi-disciplinary team consisting of cardiologists, surgeons, interventionalists, other sub-specialty nurses, advanced practice providers, radiology team, research team, and administrative staff to coordinate, support, and optimize the medical care of our complex patient population

PRIMARY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Provide both general and specialized electrophysiology services, with expertise in diagnosing and managing cardiac rhythm disorders, pacemakers, defibrillators, and ablations
  • Deliver expert clinical care and care coordination, perform wound and device checks, support device programming, manage remote monitoring, triage patient calls, and provide education to patients and families in a setting that fosters professional growth
  • Oversee remote cardiac device data, including reviewing pacemaker, defibrillator, and loop recorder transmissions
  • Triage incoming data, conducting patient phone assessments, and documenting findings in EPIC for Electrophysiology Providers to review
  • Support patients in setting up and using remote monitoring equipment, assisting with transmission troubleshooting, and educating them on device monitors and related applications

REQUIREMENTS
  • Current license to practice as a registered nurse in the State of Washington
  • At least 2 years of inpatient or outpatient cardiology/telemetry experience
  • Current BLS & ACLS
