Peakway Behavioral Health System is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Licensed Mental Health Counselor to join our vibrant team of behavioral health professionals in a fully remote capacity. This position allows counselors to assess and support clients from the comfort of their homes, utilizing state-of-the-art technology to facilitate seamless virtual interactions. Counselors will have access to innovative electronic health record (EHR) systems, providing robust support in managing patient information efficiently and confidentially.

• Conduct virtual assessments via video conferencing, enabling meaningful connections with patients during teletherapy sessions.

• Perform comprehensive mental health evaluations, gathering essential medical data including health history, symptomatology, and mental status examinations.

• Develop individualized behavioral health treatment plans and implement evidence-based interventions tailored to each patient’s unique needs.

• Regularly evaluate the effectiveness of treatment approaches and make necessary adjustments based on patient progress and therapeutic outcomes.

• Document and maintain sensitive patient records accurately, ensuring compliance with privacy regulations while maintaining a focus on quality care.

• Collaborate effectively with a multidisciplinary team to enhance service delivery and integrate patient support resources.

• Stay informed regarding the latest psychological techniques and research to ensure the highest standard of care is provided.

This position will primarily focus on providing mental health support to a diverse clientele experiencing various challenges, including anxiety, depression, trauma-related conditions, and other mental health disorders. Counselors will play a critical role in understanding each patient’s background, cultural context, and personal story, delivering treatment that respects and honors their individual journeys.

• A Master’s degree or Doctorate in Social Work, Mental Health Counseling, Marriage and Family Therapy (MFT), Art Therapy, or Psychology.

• Possession of a current and valid license (such as LCMFT, LMFT, LCPC, or LCSW-C) from the state of Maryland.

• Exceptional interpersonal skills and proficiency in both written and verbal communications are essential.

• Commitment to continuous professional development and keeping abreast of evidence-based psychosocial interventions.

• Proficient in using electronic clinical systems and healthcare applications, with a strong emphasis on maintaining accurate patient records.

• Bilingual abilities in Spanish and English would be advantageous, allowing for broader communication with our diverse patient base.

• A minimum of two years of relevant experience in mental health counseling is required.

Experience working within a virtual care environment is preferred. Familiarity with various therapeutic modalities, such as cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT) or mindfulness-based interventions, will enhance the ability to meet specific client needs effectively.
