What are the 4 C's of copywriting?

The 4 C's of copywriting are Clarity, Conciseness, Credibility, and Consistency. These principles help copywriters create effective and persuasive content by ensuring the message is clear, brief, trustworthy, and uniform across all materials. What is a remote copywriter?

A remote copywriter is a professional who creates written content such as advertisements, website copy, product descriptions, and emails for businesses, all while working from a location outside of a traditional office setting. Remote copywriters collaborate with clients and teams virtually, using digital tools to communicate, submit drafts, and receive feedback. This role requires strong writing skills, adaptability, and the ability to manage deadlines independently. Remote copywriting offers flexibility and the opportunity to work with clients from around the world.

What Is a Remote Copywriter Job Description?

Remote copywriters may work on-staff for a company or as independent contractors. Their specific tasks vary, depending on the type of organization and industry. But remote copywriters have the same job duties as an in-house copywriter; the only difference is that remote copywriters do not perform their job duties in the office. The primary responsibility of remote copywriters is to develop content that promotes a product or service or provides information to the targeted audience. As a remote copywriter, you conduct research on the relevant topics for a project, strategize how to communicate this goal, and think creatively about the material and audience for the project. Many remote copywriters are also expected to complete their text within specific deadlines.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a Remote Copywriter, and why are they important?

To thrive as a Remote Copywriter, you need exceptional writing, editing, and research skills, often supported by a degree in English, communications, or a related field. Familiarity with content management systems (CMS), SEO tools, and collaboration platforms like Google Workspace or Slack is typically required. Creativity, time management, and strong communication skills help you produce engaging content and work effectively with remote teams. These abilities are crucial for delivering high-quality copy that meets client objectives and deadlines in a distributed work environment.

Is ChatGPT taking over copywriting?

ChatGPT and similar AI tools are increasingly used to assist copywriters by generating drafts, ideas, and content suggestions. However, human copywriters are still essential for creating nuanced, persuasive, and brand-specific content that requires creativity and emotional understanding. AI serves as a complement rather than a complete replacement in the copywriting profession.

Is copywriting still in demand?

Copywriting remains in demand as businesses seek content for marketing, advertising, and digital platforms. Skilled copywriters who can adapt to SEO, social media, and content marketing trends are especially valued in the current job market.

How does a remote copywriter typically collaborate with clients and team members across different time zones?

Remote copywriters often work with clients and colleagues located in various time zones, which requires effective communication and flexibility. They commonly use digital collaboration tools such as Slack, Trello, or Google Workspace to share drafts, gather feedback, and stay aligned with project timelines. Scheduling regular check-ins and being responsive to messages helps ensure smooth workflow, while clear documentation of revisions and project goals minimizes misunderstandings. Adapting to asynchronous communication and proactively managing deadlines are key to succeeding in this distributed work environment.

Job description

Description
As the Copywriter, you'll play a key role in bringing powerful nonprofit stories to life- creating campaigns that inspire action and drive meaningful impact. You'll concept and write across channels (direct mail, email, and other digital media), transforming audience insights into compelling, high-performing direct response fundraising campaigns. You must be deadline-driven and passionate about marrying great, mission-driven ideas with nonprofit direct response best practices. Your copy will be powerful, motivating, on brand, and move audiences into action. The ideal candidate will have in-house or agency experience as a copywriter, understand how to turn data-driven insights into audience messaging, and write equally powerful copy for both print and digital channels. You will know how to tell a compelling story and position and offer, and enjoy working in a fast-paced creative environment while raising money for great causes.
Moore Media and Digital, a division of Moore, works to build donor surround sound with video, audio, and other digital messages. Part of this is through addressable media where you know who the person is you are targeting; this includes programmatic video, CTV, programmatic display, email, texting, and some social ads. And part is through non-addressable media like DRTV, traditional radio advertising, and other digital services like website design.
Moore is a data-driven constituent experience management (CXM) company achieving accelerated growth for clients through integrated supporter experiences across all platforms, channels and devices. We are an innovation-led company that is the largest marketing, data and fundraising company in North America serving the purpose-driven industry with clients across education, association, political and commercial sectors.
Your Impact:
  • Create concepts, write direct mail packages and emails, and craft storytelling across channels to generate a desired goal: donations, awareness, engagement, and reactivation.
  • Collaborate with art directors/design partners, Creative Directors, and other agency partners to conceptualize, develop and execute fully integrated, omnichannel direct response campaigns (direct mail, email, newsletters, digital display, social).
  • Work with account team partners to understand and effectively develop creative campaigns that raise money.
  • Review copy developed by other internal and external team members.
  • Stay on top of fundraising copywriting best practices across channels and the industry.
  • Manage and adhere to client brand standards.
  • Be receptive to internal and client feedback.
  • Review campaign results and apply learnings.
  • Supplement writing resources provided with online research and other content.
  • Deliver a quality product in a high-volume, fast-paced agency environment.

Your Profile:
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience, with 3 or more years of copywriting experience (agency or in-house; nonprofit/fundraising experience a plus).
  • Proficiency in Word, PowerPoint, and Excel.
  • Samples that show your writing and range.
  • Strong creative vision and copy skills across different channels.
  • Strong ability to translate complex concepts into clear, concise, compelling content.
  • Extreme attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple projects across multiple channels simultaneously while meeting critical deadlines.
  • Deadline-driven where you thrive under pressure, be outgoing and amiable, and work well across teams and departments in a fast-paced environment (some prior project management software experience [Workfront] is a plus).
  • Organized, self-sufficient, and can manage workload and timelines across multiple channels and clients.
  • Outstanding verbal and written communication skills.

How We'll Support You:
  • Join the largest marketing and fundraising company in North America serving the nonprofit industry where we prioritize innovation and professional growth.
  • Collaborate with industry subject matter experts with over 5,000 employees across the enterprise.
  • To help you stay energized, engaged and inspired, we offer a wide range of benefits including comprehensive healthcare, paid holidays and generous paid time off so you can have the time and space to recharge pursue your other passions and be with the people you care about.
  • Moore is committed to creating a diverse environment and is proud to be an equal opportunity employer. All qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard to race, color, religion, gender, gender identity or expression, sexual orientation, national origin, genetics, disability, age, or veteran status.
