Job description

Copywriting & Content Quality Specialist
Location: Remote (Dallas Metroplex preferred, not required)
A quick note on our application process: Limetree is growing, and our recent openings have attracted significant interest from applicants, given the national reach and remote nature of our roles. To help us evaluate candidates fairly and thoughtfully, this role includes a questionnaire as part of the application process. We know it's a bit lengthy, and appreciate your attention towards it! It is not an automatic disqualifier if the questionnaire is incomplete, but it does give us important context beyond the resume. In a high-volume applicant pool, candidates who skip the questionnaire are significantly less likely to move forward.
The Opportunity
Limetree is hiring a Copy & Content Quality Specialist to support writing, editing, proofing, and content quality across client and company materials. This role will report through Creative within Limetree's marketing operations structure and will work closely with our creative, communications, digital, behavioral science, strategy, data, and account teams.
This is not solely a traditional copywriter role where the work is limited to original copy development. It is also not a pure proofreading role. The right person will be able to write strong copy, improve existing materials, review proofs carefully, manage content details, and help ensure that our work is clear, accurate, aligned, and ready to perform.
Much of Limetree's work involves personalized materials, benefit details, audience segments/behavior-based messaging, performance measurement, and versioned creative. Because of that, this role requires someone who is both a strong writer and a careful reviewer. We need someone who can bring judgment, precision, and a human understanding of communication to work that often involves data, AI, behavioral science, and marketing performance.
AI will be part of the toolkit, but it is not the job. We believe AI can support speed, structure, and iteration, but the work still requires human judgment, audience understanding, behavioral awareness, and careful review.
Important Note About This Role
This role includes a meaningful amount of proofing, review, and writing-adjacent work. That may include proof checks, benefit grid review, messaging matrix updates, content versioning, presentation updates, and accuracy checks where copy, data, audience strategy, and production intersect. Candidates who are only interested in original copywriting, brand concepting, or campaign ideation are unlikely to enjoy this role.
What You'll Do
  • Write, edit, and improve copy for client marketing materials, company content, LinkedIn posts, outreach, sales materials, presentations, direct mail, email, digital ads, landing pages, and other campaign materials.
  • Support proofing and content quality during high-volume delivery periods, especially when materials include personalization, audience segmentation, benefit variation, or variable data.
  • Review materials for clarity, consistency, version control, benefit accuracy, audience/message alignment, and overall quality.
  • Help build, update, and review benefit grids, messaging matrices, content frameworks, proofing trackers, campaign version documents, and related materials.
  • Work with Creative and Communications/Digital teams to support proofing processes, while serving as a key owner of content quality and review.
  • Collaborate with Behavioral Science team members to help translate behavioral insights into practical, clear, audience-appropriate messaging.
  • Use performance results, campaign learnings, and client feedback to improve mature account materials over time.
  • Help develop new materials from scratch for growth opportunities, new client work, sales efforts, and campaign launches.
  • Support updates and improvements to existing materials rather than always starting from a blank page.
  • Use AI tools responsibly to support copy development, editing, organization, summarization, versioning, and review while maintaining strong human judgment.
  • Help improve Limetree's standards for proofing, copy review, version management, and content quality across client work.
What We're Looking For
  • Strong writing, editing, and proofreading skills across marketing, sales, presentation, digital, and client-facing materials.
  • 3 to 6 years of relevant experience in copywriting, content development, editing, proofreading, marketing communications, or a related role.
  • Healthcare experience is strongly preferred, especially experience with Medicare, Medicaid, health plans, providers, healthcare marketing, member communications, or regulated communications.
  • Comfort working with detailed and structured information, including benefit grids, campaign matrices, audience segments, versioned copy, and data-informed personalization.
  • Ability to review materials carefully and catch inconsistencies across copy, data, audience, benefit, version, and channel details.
  • Experience working in an agency, marketing, communications, healthcare, financial services, insurance, or other complex/regulated environment.
  • Practical AI fluency, including experience using tools such as ChatGPT, Claude, Copilot, or similar tools to support writing, editing, review, and content organization.
  • Good judgment about when AI is useful and when human review is non-negotiable.
  • Ability to collaborate across creative, behavioral science, strategy, data, digital, account, and operations teams.
  • Comfort with writing-adjacent work, including proof checks, benefit grid updates, content matrices, versioning documents, and production support.
  • Low ego, high standards, and a willingness to do the careful work that makes marketing better.
Compensation
Base salary: $68,000 to $82,000, depending on experience, with the expectation that most qualified candidates will likely fall in the $71,000 to $75,000 range.
Limetree is willing to consider candidates at the higher end of the range when they bring a strong combination of writing, proofreading, healthcare experience, AI fluency, and comfort working with personalized or data-driven marketing materials.
