The Role at a glance:

We are looking to add an experienced registered dietitian to our Corrections Team. As a registered dietitian, you will have the opportunity toย provide nutritionalย expertiseย to fieldย operationย employees and clients associated with the company and provide nutritionallyย adequate,ย cost effectiveย menus. This is a non-exempt role and you will be paid hourly.

What you'll be doing:
  • Collaborates with District Manager and Food Service Director to ensure client satisfaction.ย 
  • Assistsย in entering recipes into menu software to ensure consistent end products in all facilities.ย ย ย 
  • Develops menus in the menu software system for each facilityย based on the nutritional parameters set forth by the state.ย ย Makes necessaryย and/or requestedย changes to the menus as needed.ย 
  • Assistsย locations with special dietary needs by providing the Food Service Director with a menu for special diet requests.ย 
  • Providesย andย maintainsย costing of recipes and menus via the menu management software program.ย 
  • Participates in salesย processย including proposal development support, menu development and providing costs for bid menus. Attends new business presentations as neededย 
  • Understands the nutritional requirements and the regulatory processes of the National School Lunch (NSLP) and Breakfast Programs (SBP)ย andย plansย juvenileย menus based on nutritional requirements of the NSLP and SBP.ย ย ย ย 
  • Participates inย the proposal processย byย reviewing RFPโ€™s and providing menusย and supporting documentsย as written in the RFP by established deadlines.ย 
  • Assistsย Dietaryย Departmentย inย meetingย identifiedย initiatives and otherย special projectsย as needed.ย 
  • Following the Academy of Nutrition and Dieteticsโ€™ standards of practice and facility regulatory requirements.ย 
  • Interacting with other departments in setting up procedures and policies, and in problem solving as it relates to dining service and nutrition.ย 
  • Actively participating in the development, review, and revision of continuous quality improvement programs.ย 
What we're looking for:
  • Must-haves:ย 

    • Passed a national examination administered by the Commission on Dietetic Registration (CDR) or meets the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics requirements for eligibility.ย 
    • Completes 75 hours of continuing education hours every five years, in accordance with the CDR, utilizing the professional portfolio development process.ย 
    • Licensed or certified, per state requirements.ย 
    • Knowledge of regulation standards specific to comprehensive assessments, care planning, and residentsโ€™ rights.ย 
    • Ability to teach others, specifically pertaining to nutrition and dietetics.ย 
    • Bachelors or Masterโ€™sย degree from an accredited Nutrition or Dieteticsย program andย Registration by the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics.ย 
    • Excellent work record, superior communication, cooperation, and organizational skills required.ย ย ย 
    • Proficient computer skills.ย 
    • Ability to work with a teamย to supportย facility andย organizationalย objectives.ย 
    • Must be customerย service-oriented.ย 

    Nice-to-haves:ย 

    • Bachelorโ€™s degree in nutrition or related field.ย 
    • Experience working in healthcare or long-term care.ย 
Where you'll be working:
