Job description

Remote Entry-Level Customer Sales Representative

Work From Home | Full-Time | U.S. & Canada | Training Included

Not Every Sales Job Starts With a Sales Background.

Some careers begin with years of experience.

Others begin with someone who knows how to have a good conversation, pays attention when people talk, and is willing to learn.

AO Globe Life is looking for individuals who want to turn those everyday skills into a professional career in customer sales.

This is a remote position where representatives speak with people who have already requested information about insurance and benefit options. Instead of spending the day searching for strangers to contact, the focus is on having meaningful conversations with interested clients and helping them understand their available options.

Applicants must currently reside in Virginia, Illinois, California, Washington, or anywhere in Canada.

What Happens During a Typical Day?

There isn't a script for every conversation because every client has different questions.

A representative may spend part of the day:

  • Meeting with clients by phone or virtually
  • Learning what a client is looking for before discussing available options
  • Walking through benefit and coverage information
  • Clarifying questions and explaining next steps
  • Helping clients complete the appropriate paperwork or enrollment process
  • Checking back with clients when additional follow-up is needed
  • Updating records and keeping conversations organized
  • Joining team coaching and training sessions
  • Reviewing feedback and improving communication techniques

The goal isn't to pressure someone into a decision.

The goal is to understand the client, explain the available options accurately, and provide a professional experience from beginning to end.

What Makes This Different for Someone New?

No one is expected to know the business before starting.

New representatives receive training covering the products, client conversations, sales process, and systems used in the role. Continued coaching is available as representatives gain experience.

Someone coming from retail, hospitality, customer service, administration, education, or another people-focused field may already have skills that transfer well into this position.

Previous insurance or sales experience is not necessary.

The Work Setup

This position is designed for someone who prefers the flexibility of working remotely while still being part of an active team.

The position includes:

  • Full-time remote work
  • Flexible scheduling
  • Structured onboarding and training
  • Ongoing coaching and mentorship
  • Client leads generated through company channels
  • No traditional cold-calling requirement
  • Weekly commission-based compensation
  • Performance incentives
  • Opportunities for increased responsibility and leadership development
  • Virtual team meetings and collaboration

The Person Who Usually Does Well Here

The strongest candidates aren't necessarily the ones with the longest resume.

They tend to be people who:

  • Are comfortable starting conversations
  • Listen before offering an answer
  • Can explain information without making it complicated
  • Take feedback seriously
  • Follow through on commitments
  • Can stay productive without someone standing over their shoulder
  • Are comfortable with performance-based compensation
  • Want to develop skills they can continue using throughout their career

A Few Things Needed to Work Remotely

To perform the role successfully, candidates must have:

  • A current residential address in Virginia, Illinois, California, Washington, or Canada
  • Authorization to work in the applicable jurisdiction
  • A dependable internet connection
  • A computer with webcam capability
  • A suitable workspace for client conversations and virtual meetings

About the Team

AO Globe Life provides supplemental insurance and benefit solutions to working families. Representatives work remotely with clients while receiving training, coaching, and support throughout their development.
