Key responsibilities include:
 
  • Develop, configure, and customize ServiceNow applications, ensuring best practices in workflows, integrations, automations, access controls, the Service Catalog, and more.  
  •  Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to design, develop, test, and deploy solutions that meet business needs.  
  •  Build and maintain integrations between ServiceNow and other applications using REST APIs, SOAP APIs, Integration Hub, and other methods.
  •  Participate in code reviews to uphold high standards of code quality and facilitate knowledge sharing. 
  •  Troubleshoot and ensure system reliability through robust design, comprehensive testing, and responsiveness to any issues.  
  •  Create and maintain clear, detailed technical documentation for applications, APIs, and processes. 
  •  Stay updated on emerging trends and advancements in ServiceNow to recommend and implement innovative system improvements.
Required Qualifications:
To be successful in this role, candidates should have the following:
 
  • 4+ years of full software development lifecycle (SDLC) experience with a strong emphasis on JavaScript. 
  •  Proven experience as a developer outside the ServiceNow platform, with exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills.  
 Expertise in advanced ServiceNow development, including:
 
  • Business Rules, Client Scripts, Script Includes, UI Policies, UI Actions, and UI Pages. 
  •  Workflow, Flow Designer, Integration Hub, Reporting, Database Views, and Performance Analytics. 
  •  Proven experience in designing, building, and troubleshooting integrations between ServiceNow and external systems, including experience with REST APIs, SOAP APIs, Integration Hub, and authentication methods such as OAuth and Basic Auth.
  •  Strong communication skills with a focus on collaboration, clarity, and self-awareness. 
  •  Ability to effectively manage multiple assignments with shifting priorities. 
  •  Self-motivated individual eager to learn and share knowledge on ServiceNow capabilities and best practices. 
  •  Experience working on Agile/Scrum project teams. 
  •  Eligibility to obtain and maintain a Public Trust clearance.
 Preferred Qualifications:
 
  • While not required, these qualifications are a plus: 
  •  Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or equivalent experience. 
  •  Certified Application Developer (CAD) on a recent ServiceNow platform release.  
  •  Certified Implementation Specialist (CIS) or related certifications in areas such as Discovery, Event Management, or Service Mapping. 
  •  Proficiency in ServiceNow CMDB, Event Management, and/or Service Mapping (including custom patterns). 
  •  Familiarity with relational database concepts. 
  •  Familiarity with testing using Automated Test Framework (ATF).
  •  ITIL Foundation Certification (v3 or higher) or willingness to obtain within 1 year. 
  •  Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and SharePoint.
