This remote position is structured to allow for flexibility and work/life balance. While you will primarily work from a climate-controlled office setting or your home, you will also interact frequently with other healthcare providers and team members via virtual platforms. Daily activities include virtual meetings and case discussions to align on patient care and treatment objectives.

• Conduct thorough assessments to diagnose and evaluate patients' mental health status, using appropriate diagnostic tools such as the DSM-5 to create tailored treatment plans.
• Continually monitor and assess each patient's progress, implementing evidence-based interventions and adjusting care strategies as necessary to meet evolving needs.
• Maintain accurate and timely treatment records, reports, and clinical documentation, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and departmental standards.
• Collaborate effectively with patients and their families to develop comprehensive and individualized treatment plans that align with treatment goals and cultural considerations.
• Facilitate referrals and coordinate care with interdisciplinary teams, establishing and nurturing relationships with external healthcare providers and referral agencies.
• Deliver education and mentoring to interns, students, and other team members to support their professional development in therapeutic practices.
• Engage in clinical supervision and peer review activities to uphold team accountability and enhance clinical expertise.

This role focuses on providing comprehensive support to individuals and families navigating the complexities of cancer diagnosis and treatment. You'll play a vital role in addressing not only the mental health needs of patients but also their emotional and social challenges, empowering them to cope with difficult situations and fostering resilience at every step.

• A Master's degree in Social Work from an accredited institution.
• A current and valid LICSW license in the state of Massachusetts.

Prior experience in hospice care, oncology social work, or clinical mental health settings is highly desirable, as well as familiarity with evidence-based therapeutic approaches pertaining to cancer-related psychological distress.
