Position Summary
TenCate is seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Paralegal to join the Legal team. This role will provide contract, legal administrative, and corporate records support for TenCate and its subsidiaries, including Hellas and other TenCate business units. The Paralegal will report directly to Legal Counsel and work closely with leaders and team members across multiple departments and entities to support accurate, timely, and efficient legal and contract administration.
This role will support a high volume of contract and legal documentation while assisting with corporate records, compliance documentation, insurance and bonding support, and litigation-related needs. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, organized, adaptable, and comfortable interacting with people both inside and outside the organization.
While location is flexible and remote candidates may be considered, preference may be given to candidates located in or near Chattanooga, TN due to the need to help maintain corporate books and records that are physically and electronically stored in Chattanooga.
Key Responsibilities
  • Manage the contract lifecycle process, including drafting, reviewing, redlining, tracking, routing for approvals, execution, and archiving of contracts and amendments.
  • Draft, review, and maintain legal and business documents, including contracts, master service agreements, subcontracts, NDAs, vendor agreements, change orders, board resolutions, and related documentation.
  • Coordinate with internal stakeholders, including legal, estimating, forecasting, project management, operations, accounting, finance, and other business teams to support compliance and timely execution.
  • Interact professionally with internal teams, external business partners, vendors, customers, counsel, and other outside parties as needed.
  • Provide day-to-day support to Legal Counsel by preparing correspondence, summaries, legal memoranda, reports, and other documentation.
  • Conduct legal and factual research to support contract revisions, risk assessments, litigation matters, compliance needs, and policy updates.
  • Maintain organized and current contract files, templates, corporate records, books, resolutions, and related legal documentation.
  • Support insurance, bonding, licensing, corporate compliance, and litigation-related documentation as needed.
  • Assist with implementing, maintaining, and improving contract management systems, legal databases, tools, reporting, and document management processes.
  • Provide direct legal and contract administration support for TenCate and its subsidiaries, including coordination of shared contracts, cross-company initiatives, corporate records, compliance efforts, and legal documentation.
  • Ensure accuracy, completeness, consistency, and confidentiality in all legal and contractual documentation.

Qualifications and Skills
  • 5+ years of experience as a Paralegal, Legal Assistant, Contracts Specialist, or similar role, preferably in construction, manufacturing, corporate, or project-based environments.
  • Experience supporting contracts, litigation, insurance, bonding, or corporate compliance strongly preferred.
  • Law firm, in-house legal department, corporate legal, or litigation support experience preferred.
  • Bachelor's degree in Legal Studies, Business, or a related field preferred, but not required.
  • Paralegal certificate or equivalent certification preferred, but not required.
  • Demonstrated experience managing a high volume of legal documents, contracts, and related records from draft through execution and archival.
  • Strong understanding of contract principles, key terms, legal documentation, and risk management concepts.
  • Excellent organizational, analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills with strong attention to detail.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and comfort working with contract management platforms, legal databases, document management tools, or similar systems.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities under tight deadlines in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
  • Ability to work collaboratively across departments, business units, and levels of leadership.
  • High integrity and discretion in handling confidential and sensitive information.
  • Must be authorized to work in the U.S. without current or future sponsorship.
