Job Title: Reinsurance Accountant 

Location: 100% Remote 

Salary Range: $30-35/hour

Role Overview: Brilliant Financial Staffing has been engaged in the search for a Reinsurance Accountant. Our client in the insurance industry is looking for Reinsurance Accountant to join their team on a fully remote, contract basis. They are seeking an individual that has 3+ years of experience with Reinsurance Accounting. Qualified candidates are encouraged to apply immediately! 


Key Responsibilities:

  • Review and validate system-generated premium and loss calculations across assigned programs.
  • Reconcile system results against manual accounting records and general ledger balances.
  • Investigate variances and discrepancies, identifying root causes and supporting timely resolution.
  • Partner with program accounting and technology teams to validate data and resolve system-related issues.
  • Perform detailed data analysis to confirm accuracy and consistency throughout the implementation process.
  • Compare pre-production and production results to identify potential calculation or data integrity issues.
  • Assist with testing and validation activities related to new or enhanced accounting functionality.
  • Document findings and communicate issues, trends, and recommendations to accounting and project stakeholders.
  • Manage multiple priorities while maintaining a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.


Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • 3–5+ years of experience in Reinsurance Accounting required.
  • Strong understanding of reinsurance accounting processes, premium, loss, and cession activity.
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including experience with complex data analysis and reconciliation.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities with a focus on identifying discrepancies and determining root causes.
  • Ability to work effectively with both accounting and technology teams.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Demonstrated attention to detail and commitment to financial accuracy.
