Remote Contract Rn information

What is a remote contract RN?

Remote Contract Registered Nurses (RNs) are licensed nursing professionals who provide healthcare services remotely, often via telehealth platforms. They work on a contract basis, which means they are hired for a specific period or project rather than as permanent employees. Their duties can include patient consultations, triage, care coordination, and health education, all performed virtually or over the phone. This role offers flexibility but requires strong communication and technical skills to deliver quality care from a distance.

What is the difference between Remote Contract Rn vs Remote Contract Lpn?

Remote Contract Rn and Remote Contract Lpn roles both involve telehealth services but differ mainly in required credentials and scope of practice. RNs typically handle more complex patient assessments and care planning, while LPNs focus on basic patient support and documentation. Understanding these differences helps job seekers find roles aligned with their qualifications and career goals.

How does a remote contract RN typically collaborate with on-site healthcare teams and physicians?

As a Remote Contract RN, collaboration with on-site teams is essential and usually accomplished through secure telehealth platforms, virtual meetings, and regular electronic communications. You may coordinate patient care plans, provide updates, and clarify orders directly with physicians and other healthcare staff. Strong communication skills and proficiency with digital health record systems are crucial for ensuring seamless teamwork and optimal patient outcomes. Remote RNs often attend virtual shift handovers and participate in multidisciplinary team discussions to stay aligned with overall patient care strategies.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a remote contract RN?

To thrive as a Remote Contract RN, you need an active RN license, strong clinical judgment, and experience in case management or telehealth nursing. Familiarity with telehealth platforms, electronic health records (EHRs), and secure communication systems is typically required. Excellent time management, independent decision-making, and clear virtual communication are vital soft skills for success in a remote setting. These skills ensure effective patient care, regulatory compliance, and seamless collaboration without direct supervision.

Job description

Meds.com is a rapidly growing consumer technology firm operating a suite of healthcare businesses, including our flagship brands BlueChew and MOD. Our mission is to better patients' lives through innovative healthcare solutions. With a team of 350 professionals across various specialties, we've built scalable pharmacy, telemedicine, and e-commerce platforms using cutting-edge technology. As we continue our accelerated growth trajectory, we're launching new products to expand our patient base and accelerate growth. Join us in tackling exciting challenges at the intersection of healthcare and technology.

Reporting directly to the CEO and Co-Founder, the Director of Recruiting will serve as the executive owner of BlueChew and MOD’s clinical talent acquisition engine. You will build, lead, and optimize the end-to-end recruitment pipeline for our clinical workforce—including Nurse Practitioners (NPs), Registered Nurses (RNs), Medical Assistants, and medical administrative support teams.

This is a critical leadership role designed for someone who thrives at the intersection of fast-paced tech startup execution and strict healthcare/medical regulatory compliance. You will work side-by-side with executive leadership and clinical directors to scale our network of licensed providers efficiently without sacrificing quality of care.

Responsibilities

Strategic Talent Ownership & Executive Alignment

  • Direct CEO Partnership: Work directly with the CEO/Co-Founder to align clinical hiring targets with broader company growth milestones, platform volume, and new product expansions.

  • Workforce Planning: Build predictive hiring models to anticipate provider needs across various states and licensing jurisdictions based on asynchronous/synchronous patient demand.

  • Metric-Driven Leadership: Establish and take accountability for key talent metrics, including Time-to-Fill, Cost-per-Hire, Provider Conversion Rate, 90-Day Retention, and Credentialing Velocity.

Full-Cycle Clinical & Medical Recruiting

  • Clinical Sourcing: Design aggressive, multi-channel sourcing strategies to recruit high-performing Nurse Practitioners, RNs, and administrative support staff.

  • High-Volume & Specialized Hiring: Manage high-volume recruitment cycles for remote telehealth clinicians while maintaining a high bar for bedside manner, digital empathy, and technical literacy.

Credentialing, Compliance & Onboarding Integration

  • Multi-State Medical Compliance: Oversee recruitment workflows that account for complex multi-state licensure requirements, Compact Nursing licenses, and state-by-state independent practice regulations for NPs.

  • Primary Source Verification: Partner seamlessly with our Operations teams to ensure rapid verification of active licenses and background checks during the offer stage.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in human resources, healthcare administration, business administration, communications or psychology.

  • 10+ years of Talent Acquisition experience, with a minimum of 3+ years in a senior leadership role (Director or Senior Manager) specifically focused on healthcare, clinical, or telemedicine recruiting.

  • Proven track record scaling remote clinical teams (specifically Nurse Practitioners and RNs) in high-volume, multi-state environments.

  • Deep understanding of medical licensing and regulatory frameworks, including multi-state Compact rules, NP collaborative agreements, and primary source verification standards.

  • Direct executive partner experience: Comfortable presenting data, pipeline health, and strategic forecasts directly to C-suite founders.

  • Data-driven and tech-forward: Experience selecting, implementing, and optimizing ATS platforms and automated sourcing pipelines.

  • High EQ & Negotiation Skills: Ability to negotiate competitive compensation packages for specialized medical professionals while controlling overall acquisition costs.

Perks
  • 100% company-paid Medical, Dental, and Vision premium coverage for employees, plus.

  • Short-Term Disability and Life Insurance

  • 401(k) with company match

  • Complimentary daily lunch provided on-site

We are looking for top talent that wants to make a measurable impact in an exciting, fast-paced environment. This role is full-time in our Austin, TX or Miami, FL office.
