Job description

 

The Vice President, Payer Contracting leads the strategy, negotiation, and execution of Aledade's Commercial value-based care contracts with national and regional health plans and other purchasers serving commercially insured members.  This role also supports securing health plan network participation agreements between Aledade and health plans.

We are flexible with respect to geographic location, and the ideal candidate will be comfortable working remotely/work from home within the US or be based from Bethesda, MD office.


Primary Duties:


Commercial Performance 

  • Oversee the Commercial segment within the Strategic Payer Partnerships team ensuring performance goals and objectives are met.

  • Lead the evaluation of prospective health plan partnerships, including negotiating terms and evaluating, editing and recommending approval of value-based care contracts for Commercial members/patients

  • Qualify and source market growth and expansion for multi-year risk arrangements

Strategy & Relationship Management 

  • Collaborate with Executive Leadership to shape Aledade's strategy for value-based contracting on behalf of independent primary care practices

  • Develop and nurture collaborative relationships with key stakeholders including both internal and external

Leadership & Execution

  • Lead, direct, and evaluate a team of senior leaders ranging from Manager to Sr. Director. 

  • Motivate, coach, and develop the team to ensure talent is aligned to achieve company and team goals.

  • Foster a productive environment and culture that aligns with Aledade's core values.

Network Participation

  • Lead the evaluation of prospective health plan network participation agreements including negotiating terms and evaluating, editing and recommending approval of participation agreements across lines of business

  • Collaborate internally to qualify and recommend prioritized markets growth 

  • Build and deliver external facing materials in support of network participation agreements

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in related field

  • 15+ years progressive experience with health plans or payer contracting within value-based care, plus 7+ years  experience managing and leading teams

  • Deep knowledge of Commercially insured populations

  • Results-oriented with the ability to exercise influence to achieve goals

  • Proven track record of creating, maintaining, and enhancing relationships and communicating effectively with senior management

  • Expert at business development at local and national level 

  • Passionate about driving the shift from fee-for-service to value based care


Preferred Qualifications

  • Master's degree in related field
