The Digital Shelf Project Lead leads the end-to-end execution of Digital Shelf initiatives, ensuring product content is accurately created, collected, approved, and delivered to support new product launches, content refreshes, packaging updates, optimization initiatives, and retailer requirements.

This role serves as the primary point of contact for Brand Teams, Customer Development, and Digital Shelf Optimization partners, driving alignment across stakeholders and ensuring content is ready for successful syndication and retailer execution.

This role is responsible for coordinating Digital Shelf content creation, content collection, workflow execution, and readiness activities across multiple stakeholders. Working closely with Brand Teams, CX Optimization Leads, Syndication Leads, MarTech teams, and external partners, the Digital Shelf Project Lead ensures content is delivered on time, projects remain on track, and Digital Shelf requirements are met prior to retailer syndication.

Key Responsibilities

  • Serve as the primary Digital Shelf point of contact for Brand Teams, Customer Development Teams, and CX Optimization Leads, providing project leadership and coordination across Digital Shelf initiatives.
  • Lead end-to-end execution of Digital Shelf projects including new product launches (NPIs), restages, packaging updates, content refreshes, optimization initiatives, and retailer-specific requirements.
  • Develop and manage project plans, timelines, key milestones, risks, dependencies, and stakeholder communications to ensure successful project delivery.
  • Coordinate the collection and readiness of Digital Shelf assets, copy, metadata, product information, and retailer-specific content requirements.
  • Manage Digital Shelf workflows across Salsify, Aprimo, and related systems, ensuring content creation, approvals, and readiness milestones are completed on schedule.
  • Monitor content readiness and project timelines, proactively identifying gaps, risks, or delays that could impact launch timing or syndication readiness.
  • Partner closely with Syndication Leads to ensure a seamless transition from content readiness to retailer syndication and validation activities.
  • Facilitate project meetings, readiness reviews, stakeholder discussions, and issue resolution activities to maintain alignment and execution accountability.
  • Maintain project trackers, reporting, workflow statuses, and launch readiness documentation to provide visibility across active Digital Shelf initiatives.
  • Identify opportunities to improve project management processes, Digital Shelf workflows, content governance, and operational efficiency.
  • Support implementation of workflow enhancements, automation opportunities, and new capabilities that improve speed-to-market and content readiness.
  • Champion continuous improvement efforts that improve project execution, content quality, stakeholder experience, and Digital Shelf performance.
  • Manage 1-2 contractors and/or agency partner resources supporting Digital Shelf project execution, including workload direction, status tracking, quality review, and escalation of risks or blockers.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Business, Marketing, Information Technology, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • 5-8 years of progressive experience in Digital Shelf, Product Information Management (PIM), Product Experience Management (PXM), eCommerce operations, content operations, project management, or related disciplines.
  • Proven experience leading complex cross-functional projects involving multiple stakeholders and competing priorities.
  • Experience managing Digital Shelf initiatives including new product launches, content refreshes, product restages, packaging updates, optimization programs, or retailer readiness activities.
  • Hands-on experience with Salsify (or similar PXM/PIM platforms), Aprimo, or related content management systems.
  • Strong project management, organizational, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to influence cross-functional teams and drive accountability without direct authority.
  • Experience managing content collection, workflow execution, project tracking, and launch readiness activities.
  • Strong analytical skills and experience leveraging reporting, project metrics, and operational data to drive decisions and improve outcomes.

Desired Qualifications

  • Experience in CPG, retail, or omnichannel commerce environments.
  • Experience serving as the primary business lead or project lead for Digital Shelf, eCommerce, content operations, or customer-facing initiatives.
  • Advanced understanding of Digital Shelf content creation, content collection, syndication, and optimization workflows.
  • Experience supporting major retailer ecosystems including Amazon, Walmart, Target, CVS, Walgreens, Kroger, and other key retail partners.
  • Experience improving Digital Shelf operations through workflow optimization, automation, process standardization, or system enhancements.
  • Familiarity with project management tools such as Jira, Smartsheet, Monday.com, or similar platforms.
  • Proven ability to lead through influence, manage ambiguity, and balance multiple competing priorities.
  • Experience managing contractors and/or agency partner resources, including coordinating priorities, providing direction, reviewing deliverables, and ensuring accountability to timelines and quality expectations.
  • Strong attention to detail with a track record of delivering high-quality Digital Shelf initiatives on time and with accuracy.
