Business Analyst -Right Management

Location: Los Angeles CA

Work mode: Hybrid OR Remote

Requirements Gathering & Analysis Engage with cross-functional stakeholders to elicit, clarify, and document business needs for Rights Management systems. Conduct discovery workshops, process walkthroughs, and gap analysis sessions. Document BRDs, FRDs, SRS, user stories, epics, workflows, and acceptance criteria. Analyze existing rights processes, contracts, approval workflows, and metadata structures to identify improvement areas.

Rights Management Expertise Provide SME support on Rights categories, availability checks, usage rights, approvals, legal constraints, and rights logic. Map legacy rights systems to the target RMS, ensuring functional coverage and alignment across all modules. Support design-thinking sessions for reimagined rights workflows and user journeys.

Documentation & Communication Create process maps, UML/BPMN diagrams, data mappings, API documentation, and flow diagrams. Communicate requirements effectively with technical teams, vendors, and business sponsors. Prepare functional specifications for development teams and validate functional designs.

Implementation Support Partner with UI/UX, engineering, QA, and product teams to drive RMS enhancements. Develop test cases, support UAT, and ensure successful deployment of system changes. Evaluate RMS platforms against business requirements to recommend the right-fit solution.

Reporting & Insights Support design and validation of reports, dashboards, rights search capabilities, and analytics.

Required Skills & Qualifications 5โ€“10+ years of Business Analysis experience, preferably in Media & Entertainment Rights Management. Strong understanding of Rights lifecycle: acquisition, licensing, exploitation windows, contract metadata, and constraints. Proficiency in BRD/FRD/SRS documentation, user story writing, and process modelling. Hands-on experience with RMS platforms (e.g., RightsLogic, FilmTrack, custom RMS). Experience with Agile methodology, Jira, and cross-team collaboration. Excellent stakeholder management, communication (verbal & written), and critical thinking.

Preferred Qualifications Experience in Legal, Syndication, Finance, Programming or Content Operations workflows. Exposure to data migration, rights metadata modelling, and contract lifecycle systems. Certification: CBAP, PMI-PBA, Agile certifications (CSPO/SAFe).
