Position Overview

Cygnus Behavioral Health Services is seeking a compassionate and dedicated Licensed Mental Health Counselor to join our growing team in a fully remote telehealth setting. This full-time role invites you to empower individuals on their journey to develop healthier relationships with alcohol using evidence-based treatment modalities. You will provide personalized therapeutic support, fostering lasting change through a collaborative and tailored approach.

About the Organization

At Cygnus Behavioral Health Services, we are committed to assisting individuals in transforming their relationship with alcohol. Through our accessible online platform, we provide members with a free anonymous community, therapist-led support groups, and a wealth of resources for informed recovery. We prioritize affordability, accessibility, and quality evidence-based care to ensure that every member has the opportunity to celebrate their recovery milestones.

Founded out of a personal recovery journey, our mission at Cygnus is to foster a supportive environment where individuals are encouraged to pursue their path toward healthier living. Our evidence-based practices are designed to be both effective and welcoming, helping individuals connect with the resources they need to thrive.

Work Environment

The position will be conducted entirely online through a telehealth delivery model, allowing for flexibility and convenience. You will work from the comfort of your home in Rancho Cucamonga, California, serving clients from various backgrounds and experiences. Our innovative digital platform enables seamless communication, enabling you to focus primarily on delivering high-quality patient care without being bogged down by administrative tasks.

Key Responsibilities
  • Set your own schedule with flexible availability, without a minimum number of required hours.
  • Receive compensation for late cancellations and no-show appointments, ensuring your time is valued.
  • Maintain and obtain Continuing Education Unit (CEU) credits annually, with costs covered by the organization.
  • Minimize administrative workload and billing responsibilities, as our dedicated team will manage this essential backend work.
  • Collaborate with our Content Manager to produce “Expert Insights” articles, if you are interested.
  • Facilitate optional support groups, providing a space for community connection and shared experience.
  • Receive client referrals directly, allowing for a steady flow of new clients while you concentrate on care.
  • Access ongoing support from our dedicated Clinical Operations Teams and Best-In-Class Care Coordination Team.
  • Participate in optional monthly peer group meetings to foster collaboration and community among fellow clinicians.
Patient Population / Client Focus

In this role, you will work with a diverse clientele who are seeking to improve their relationship with alcohol. Some patients may focus on moderation rather than complete abstinence, and it is essential that you understand and communicate the harm-reduction model effectively. You will have the opportunity to engage with individuals based on their unique goals, providing them with the necessary support, empathy, and encouragement. The role also includes an emphasis on recognizing and connecting clients to existing community recovery support programs, such as Alcoholics Anonymous, SMART Recovery, and Moderation Management.

Qualifications
  • Must hold a current state license as either an LCSW, LMFT, or LPCC.
  • Proven training and experience in modalities such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Motivational Interviewing, and Trauma-Informed Care.
  • Ability to engage in empathetic clinical interactions, essential for establishing trust and rapport with clients.
  • Knowledge of community recovery resources, demonstrating an understanding of the support structures available to clients beyond your services.
Preferred Experience
  • Experience working specifically in alcohol-related counseling or addiction recovery settings will be highly valued.
  • Background in harm-reduction methodologies, reflecting an awareness of the diverse paths clients may choose in their recovery journey.
  • Previous involvement in leading group therapy sessions or support groups is a plus.
Compensation and Benefits

The role offers a competitive salary range of USD 120,000 – 140,000 annually, along with performance bonuses. Cygnus Behavioral Health Services provides a comprehensive benefits package, which includes health insurance, retirement planning options, and generous paid time off to ensure a balanced work-life environment. You will have access to continuous professional development opportunities and resources to enhance your clinical skills and knowledge.

Career Growth Opportunities

At Cygnus, we believe in nurturing the professional growth of our counselors. As part of our dynamic team, you will receive mentorship and professional development support, paving the way for advancement opportunities within the organization. By participating in monthly peer group discussions and engaging in the creation of specialized content, you can build your professional network and refine your expertise.

Why Join Our Team

Become a part of a dedicated team committed to evidence-based treatment and making a positive difference in the lives of our clients. You will enjoy the flexibility of a remote work environment, autonomy in scheduling, and the support of a collaborative community of professionals. At Cygnus, your role extends beyond traditional counseling; you provide meaningful change and growth in the lives of individuals seeking support.
