Global Training Content Manager

Sonos

Full-time

Medical, Dental, Vision, Life, Retirement, PTO

This job post has expired today. Applications are no longer accepted.

Job description

At Sonos we want to create the ultimate listening experience for our customers and know that it starts by listening to each other. As part of the Sonos team, you’ll collaborate with people of all styles, skill sets, and backgrounds to realize our vision while fostering a community where everyone feels included and empowered to do the best work of their lives.

This role can be done from home

Building the world’s leading sound experience starts with the experience we provide for our people. That’s why we’ve been distributed from the start: initially between offices in Boston & Santa Barbara, and now with additional offices around the globe. This role can be done from any of our offices across the United States or remotely from home. It’s about impact, not location.

The Global Training Content Creation Manager owns the creation, quality, and delivery of world-class training and educational content for a global organization. This role will set and drive the educational content strategy while personally building high-impact learning assets. This role is equal parts storyteller, instructional designer, producer, and platform owner — someone who can move from a blank page to a polished, published module and rally cross-functional partners around a clear learning vision.

Managers on the Sonos Global Education Team will lead with transparency, empathy, and creativity. They will create a working environment that fosters diversity of perspectives while acting as a group to achieve goals.

What You’ll Do:

Content Strategy & Leadership

  • Define and drive the global educational content strategy, ensuring alignment with business and regional sales priorities.

  • Operate as a player/coach — personally producing flagship assets while guiding and elevating the work of the team.

  • Manage one direct report starting in October, with a two-year mandate to grow and structure the content team.

Platform & Tools Ownership

  • Own and administer our LMS platform(s): configuration, content publishing, user experience, and ongoing optimization.

  • Continuously research, evaluate, and recommend new learning tools and technologies beyond the current stack.

  • Build and manage SCORM-compliant packages and ensure content interoperability across platforms.

Content Creation & Production

  • Build training modules, slide presentations, and educational assets from concept through to publication.

  • Collaborate on video production of educational assets

  • Apply strong graphic design skills to produce polished, on-brand learning materials.

Cross-Functional Partnership

  • Partner closely with key stakeholders from sales and marketing to develop educational tools that contribute to business success

  • Collaborate with regional sales teams to ensure content is relevant, localized, and enablement-ready.

  • Work with Global Brand Marketing to maintain brand consistency and align messaging across educational assets.

Execution & Delivery

  • Deliver against deadlines while maintaining exceptional quality.

  • Respond quickly to ad hoc educational requests, reprioritizing and turning work around on short notice.

  • Maintain extreme attention to detail across every asset, from script to final render.

  • Capture and analyze audience feedback to ensure content is achieving desired effects.

  • Keep up with industry trends and technology to ensure that the team is educating in the best way possible.

  • Continue to build on the legacy of “best in class” training moments that Sonos has delivered over the last 15 years.

What You’ll Need:

Basic Qualifications

  • 8+ years of educational content creation experience

  • Effective experience in the following tools

    • Powerpoint and Google Slides

    • Adobe Creative Suite

    • Articulate 360 (or similar tools)

    • Claude and Open AI

  • Effective experience managing LMS platforms

  • Effective experience in adult learning theory

  • Effective experience building educational strategies for various types of learners

  • Demonstrated experience, and success with storytelling

  • Proven ability to hit strict deadlines while juggling competing priorities.

  • Effective experience in the residential and commercial audio-video industry.

  • Effective experience in communicating knowledge to others

  • Demonstrated ability to lead projects from incubation to completion

  • Language fluency in English

  • The ability to travel globally for team and educational events

Preferred Qualifications

  • 8+ years of experience in technical training, sales enablement, or learning and development within the consumer electronics, AV, or technology hardware industries.

  • Demonstrated experience developing and delivering educational content for both retail sales associates (B2C) and professional installers/dealers (B2B)

  • Experience in audio video retail, installation, or design

  • Training certifications from CEDIA, AVIXA, and the NAHB

  • Proficiency in writing in a clear and conversational style

  • Humility to identify opportunities in oneself and the team

  • Experience collaborating with teammates and cross-functional teams

  • A curiosity to learn new skills and a dedication to master those skills.

  • Highly organized and able to deliver multiple projects at the same time.

  • Additional language fluency in Spanish, French, German, or Japanese

  • A passion for consumer and professional electronics

  • A love of the music and home theater experiences
