About the Role:
As a Digital Content Manager & CMS Platform Lead you will support multiple web properties and support platform migration strategies. This role will serve as the bridge between Marketing, Content, UX, and Web Development teams, ensuring business requirements, content governance standards, and editor usability remain central throughout the migration process. Our team emphasizes accountability and open feedback. We value team cohesion, diverse perspectives, and shared ownership of outcomes.

This position reports to the Manager, Digital Engagement and can be based out of our office in Topeka or Overland Park, Kansas. We work a hybrid schedule, offering flexibility to work both remotely and on-site.

CMS Administration & Content Management

  • Implement, update, and maintain front-end web content using CMS tools while adhering to brand, accessibility, SEO, and digital experience standards.
  • Support ongoing content operations across existing CMS environments (Drupal) and future-state implementations (Contentful).
  • Maintain content governance processes, publishing workflows, and documentation.

Information Architecture and Digital Experience

  • Maintain website information architecture, navigation structures, taxonomy, and content organization to support intuitive user experiences.
  • Partner with UX, UI, and content stakeholders to ensure alignment with customer journeys and business objectives.
  • Identify opportunities to improve site usability and content discoverability.

CMS Migration and Evolution

  • Serve as the primary marketing and content liaison to technical web development teams during migration efforts.
  • Advocate for content editor needs and future-state usability during platform design and implementation decisions.
  • Assist in translating business requirements into technical specifications and help prioritize must-have versus nice-to-have functionality.
  • Develop and coordinate regression testing and user acceptance testing frameworks with content marketing stakeholders.
  • Establish processes for managing content changes occurring in the production environment (Drupal) during the migration period and ensure proper translation into our future state environment (Contentful).
  • Collaborate with Strategic Brand, UI, UX and (potentially) external consultants to explore and execute website redesign phases.

Governance & Cross-Functional Leadership

  • Support governance of digital standards and structural consistency across web properties.
  • Ensure business objectives and content management requirements are appropriately represented in technical decision-making.
  • Document migration processes, governance standards, workflows, and operational procedures for future teams.

What We’re Looking For:

  • Bachelor’s degree, or equivalent experience, in marketing, web development, content strategy, or related fields
  • 5+ years of experience managing enterprise websites and CMS platforms.
  • Experience supporting or leading CMS migration initiatives.
  • Strong understanding of information architecture, content governance, accessibility (WCAG), and SEO best practices.
  • Proven ability to work effectively with both technical development teams and non-technical business stakeholders.
  • Experience developing testing plans, content QA processes, and migration validation frameworks.
  • Excellent communication, documentation, and project coordination skills.

Preferred Qualifications and Expectations

  • Hands-on experience with Drupal; Contentful experience preferred.
